Great book on colonialism,

This review is from: Colonial Encounters in the Age of High Imperialism (Paperback)
Cook does such a good job with this book. He gives a very good introduction to why the Europeans colonized and then he goes into specific examples or as he call's them "case studies". The case studies are fascinating and the reader develops a new perception on the brutality of colonies.
