The knife I received is not as nice looking as the one in the picture.
M.
I am happy to report that the knife itself seems very high quality, and the aesthetic has grown on me a lot.
Joey B
Very well made and the person who received it as a gift was extremely happy with it.

This is a bad knife. It was delivered with a dull blade that does not take an edge easily. The marlin spike bent on the first shackle I attempted to loosen, which was only a 1/2 inch shackle. Small stress cracks even formed along the curve of the bend. This knife was not made for real work. It may look good in your hand. It is handsome enough to show off. But if you intend to use the Colonial 1758 as a rigging knife is intended to be used, this is not the knife for you.

FOR THE WOODEN BOAT TYPE: the wood handle marlin spike by Colonial is the only choice-the company has pedigree and it's product also meets that same standard for the offshore-bluewater sailor. Blade is very sharp-the marlin spike locks open-it came with a sheath. I give it thumbs up for the person that has or loves wooden boats.
Stay well

I bought this as a Christmas gift for my dad and was disappointed that it did not come with a lanyard even though it shows one in the picture and states that one comes with it in the description. The shackle that holds the lanyard is also very loose. Other than that, the knife itself is nice and the order was processed very quickly.
