Brendan January's bold new book Colonial Life, vividly and eloquently depicts everyday life from a time oft forgotten. very basic easy reader
I bought this for my fifth grader but is more appropriate for my 2nd grader. Has excellent information though and good pictures.

Brendan January's bold new book Colonial Life, vividly and eloquently depicts everyday life from a time oft forgotten. One has to admire the book for its style and ability to touch and engage children-- Our little one couldn't put it down. This book has sparked his growing interest and desire to learn more about our great nation's history. January's writing is beautiful and fulfilling. It's just too bad that more hasn't been published by this up and coming author. Colonial Life is a book where plot and style do mesh together in complete harmony. This should be in evey school's curriculum around the country.
