Book Description

0723416761 978-0723416760 November 1992
This atlas presents new pictorial coverage of the whole of clinical medicine. Designed to stand alone or to act as a colour companion to the major medical textbooks, its organization and range of coverage follows that of the standard texts of medicine. Numerous colour illustrations highlight the clinical signs of all major medical disorders and the clinical illustrations are accompanied by radiological, ultrasound, endoscopic and other images whenever this adds to the clinical usefulness of the book. Each chapter starts with an illustrated guide to symptoms, signs and investigations before providing a systematic coverage of common and rare disorders. Used alongside one of the standard medical textbooks it aims to give a view and understanding of clinical medicine.

Editorial Reviews

Review

"An excellent all-round clinical medicine book, with lots of lovely pictures. Every medical student's bookshelf needs a book like this. If you don't currently have a clinical atlas I would consider this as a purchase." Highly Commended in the Medicine category at the 2003 BMA Awards, November 2003 --This text refers to an out of print or unavailable edition of this title.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect Board Review for Steps 2-3!, June 10, 2001

This text was a perfect review for USMLE Steps 1, 2 and 3! Has full color reproductions of classic ECG's, X-Rays, V/Q's and clinical patient presentations. As an example, I only found pictures of "rachitic rosary" in one book and this one was it! A must have for board review.

5.0 out of 5 stars A very good book!, January 30, 2004
By A Customer
This color atlas and text are really very good. The text is a quick read but is thorough, covering diagnosis, prognosis, physical exam findings and treatment of choice in many cases. It has classic pictures and examples of a very wide variety of conditions. This is simply an excellent review for the USMLE (mainly parts 2 and 3). It's excellent for review during clinical medicine rotations and the Internal Medicine boards. Overall, very well done!

5.0 out of 5 stars One of the best book of internal medicine!, December 7, 2002
By
Zippy (Boston, MA) - See all my reviews
This book is very well written, the explanations are very clear and accompanied by high-quality illustrations. I recommend using it together with "Self Assessment Picture Tests in Medicine: Clinical Medicine", the companion book with questions covering the content of "Color Atlas and Text of Clinical Medicine" for a better preparation for USMLE Step 2 CK.
