I bought this book for my 3-month-old son. He enjoys looking at the bright colors. Every times I turn the pages for him, his whole body responses. He is dancing to it!

Toddlers love this book because of the vibrant colors. Very young children also enjoy turning pages in books so one-word pages are great. This book is also useful when teaching shapes and colors.

I purchased this book for my 20M old son who loves books. The book has big pictures, bright colors and shapes that form into different animals. A very interactive book. The only reason why I gave this book 4 stars instead of 5 was because when I purchased this book I was unaware that it was not a board book. The book although hard on outside has flipsy, thin pages which are easily ripped while little hand are turning pages, etc. It took my 20M old a little while to get used to this book since he loves flipping the pages. Otherwise great book!!

My pediatrician told me to start reading to my children when they were infants before I put them down for naps or bedtime. Great advice. My children LOVE reading, and it continues to be part of our bedtime routine. This is a great book to read to the really young...3 months and on. Wonderful and brilliant. I give this book to all of my friends. Lois Ehlert is..what can I say....well the woman writes and illustrates really worthwhile books for children.

Using vibrant colors and die-cuts this book creates the visages of various farm animals. The book appeals to babies and young toddlers and introduces them to various shapes and colors. The die-cuts used to create the various animals are brilliantly conceived. The youngest children at the day care always liked flipping through this book; the color combination really catches one's attention.

I love this book because it is so colorful, it teaches shapes and colors and animals. And the kids love it!

I tried this book with my son when he was under 1, but he was really not interested in it like he was with other books, so I returned it to the library. Now that he is older, I decided to take it out just to see how he reacted and he ended up loving the book more than I ever would have guessed. The big difference now is that he can say all the animals, shapes and colors in the book. He loves "reading" the book to his favorite animals while sitting on the sofa and when we read it together he loves to talk about the shapes and colors on each page. I think Color Zoo is slightly better, because the animals for the most part are recognizable. For my own sanity, however, I like to alternate between the two books.

I use this with school-aged beginner ELLs to teach names of shapes, colors and directions for reproducing the animals. Once they learn these they make their own and give directions to other ELLs. A must have.

I received this book as a gift for my newborn. She's only 2 months old, but we've already been using it for a few weeks. The colors and shapes really stand out for her and help calm her down for bedtime. The animal pages, with the higher contrast colors, work really well for her.

My boys both loved the shapes. The didn't always get the pictures, but that's okay. They enjoyed the shapes and colors, and as long as they are happy, I'm happy.
