Book Description

June 1, 2010 Zane Presents
Color Me Grey dares to ask two startling questions: “What would you do if you had everything you ever wanted and found out the person you trusted most was trying to steal it all from you?” And, “what if two sexual encounters left you with two separate babies—twins—from two different fathers; one obviously black and one obviously white?” While it is a fictional account, it also provides a rare opportunity to peek inside of a rare but true medical occurrence; the fact that two percent of fraternal twins that are born each year are born to one mother—AND TWO DIFFERENT FATHERS.Beautiful mahogany-skinned Bridget Grey finds herself locked in a vicious nightmare when she becomes pregnant. Despite the fact that her husband is black, she gives birth to twins—a girl named Jasmine, dark-skinned with dark hair and eyes, and blond-haired, blue-eyed Jacob. In an attempt to piece together the remnants of her life, Bridget discovers a trail of betrayal that started when she was a young child living at a group home—a trail that starts and ends with Jade Smith. With Jade holding secrets over Bridget’s head, Bridget’s back is against the wall, leaving her feeling utterly hopeless.

5.0 out of 5 stars "We'll be waiting for you.", November 28, 2010
This review is from: Color Me Grey (Zane Presents) (Paperback)
Bridget Grey has had a terrible childhood being in the foster care system with her best friend Jade at her side. Bridget marries the man of her dreams, and she's pregnant with twins. Everything seems fine until one of the babies is born black and the other one is born white. What makes it worse is that Bridget's husband is black. How can this be? Bridget's life is spinning out of control and she confides in Jade. But can Jade be trusted?

Color Me Grey is a riveting debut novel by Michelle Janine Robinson. Robinson expertly tackled a rare but true medical occurrence of fraternal twins being born to two different fathers. But there is a lot more than meets the eye with this book. Readers will find that Bridget's twins aren't the main plot of this book and that there are some shocking revelations that will make your jaw drop. There are also some intriguing secondary characters that play a role in Bridget's life that are an integral part of the story. Color Me Grey is full of non-stop drama and devastating secrets that will make you want to read future novels by Michelle Janine Robinson.

Color Me Grey by Michelle Janine Robinson was an excellent book. Once I read the first chapter I just could not put the book down. I think the author did an excellent job with her first novel, and I am looking forward to her next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - Could Not Put It Down, August 7, 2011

This review is from: Color Me Grey (Zane Presents) (Paperback)
From the very first pages of this amazingly written novel, I felt caught up in the life of the main character, Bridget Grey, and every other character introduced after her. The author's way of putting words to the page and developing the characters and situations throughout the entire story made it impossible for me to put this book down. You will be amazed from the first words right right up until the last. Hard to believe that this is Ms. Robinson's first novel - where has she been hiding. A fantastic read - you will not be disappointed. Cannot wait to read more of this author's work.
