5.0 out of 5 stars "We'll be waiting for you.", November 28, 2010
This review is from: Color Me Grey (Zane Presents) (Paperback)
Bridget Grey has had a terrible childhood being in the foster care system with her best friend Jade at her side. Bridget marries the man of her dreams, and she's pregnant with twins. Everything seems fine until one of the babies is born black and the other one is born white. What makes it worse is that Bridget's husband is black. How can this be? Bridget's life is spinning out of control and she confides in Jade. But can Jade be trusted?

Color Me Grey is a riveting debut novel by Michelle Janine Robinson. Robinson expertly tackled a rare but true medical occurrence of fraternal twins being born to two different fathers. But there is a lot more than meets the eye with this book. Readers will find that Bridget's twins aren't the main plot of this book and that there are some shocking revelations that will make your jaw drop. There are also some intriguing secondary characters that play a role in Bridget's life that are an integral part of the story. Color Me Grey is full of non-stop drama and devastating secrets that will make you want to read future novels by Michelle Janine Robinson.

Color Me Grey by Michelle Janine Robinson was an excellent book. Once I read the first chapter I just could not put the book down. I think the author did an excellent job with her first novel, and I am looking forward to her next one.

5.0 out of 5 stars Excellent - Could Not Put It Down, August 7, 2011

This review is from: Color Me Grey (Zane Presents) (Paperback)
From the very first pages of this amazingly written novel, I felt caught up in the life of the main character, Bridget Grey, and every other character introduced after her. The author's way of putting words to the page and developing the characters and situations throughout the entire story made it impossible for me to put this book down. You will be amazed from the first words right right up until the last. Hard to believe that this is Ms. Robinson's first novel - where has she been hiding. A fantastic read - you will not be disappointed. Cannot wait to read more of this author's work.

I always wanted to read this book but just never got a chance to grab it. My god it was great just like I thought it would be. I wondered if something like this would really happen. Anyway, I think the book was well thought out and well executed. Good Job Michelle

5.0 out of 5 stars Author Redsnapper - Color Me Grey: GREAT NOVEL!, July 15, 2010
This review is from: Color Me Grey (Zane Presents) (Paperback)
Color Me Grey by Michelle Janine Robinson is one of the best and most interesting Urban Fiction novels I have ever read. I love the way she spent time developing her characters throughout the novel as well as developing her extremely intriguing plots, and her action packed situations. Her main character, the beautiful mahogany-skinned Bridget Grey is an extremely intriguing character, one that lives on the pages of this well developed epic tale. Her story is so well written that I truly believed that this woman was indeed a real and living human being as I read the novel. Although Ms. Grey finds herself locked in a vicious nightmare when she becomes pregnant and despite the fact that her husband is of African-American decent, she through a act of God gives birth to twins, a girl named Jasmine who is dark-skinned with dark hair and dark eyes, and Jacob who is blond-haired and blue-eyed. In her attempt to put her life on the right track, Bridget discovers a trail of betrayal that begins when she was living at a Child's shelter where she has a long drawn out encounter with a character by the name of Jade Smith. With Jade holding secrets over Bridget's head, Bridget is caught up on a emotional roller-coaster and she is forced to either find a way out by suicide or facing her demons. Michelle develops her characters brilliantly as the situations they face are so detailed that the reader can't help but feel as if they're a part of the story. This is a must read and I would definitely read more from this author - 5 Stars.
