I have been looking all over for books on transfer painting to cloth. This is worth it, especially if you can get a used copy. I wish I could find more books on the topic.

Color Moves by Linda Kemshall is a book that is detailed enough to get the beginning student inspired as well as some interesting ideas for the seasoned fabric transfer veteran. Divided into four sections, Supplies, Beyond Basics, Taking it Further, and Projects. Each section is peppered with color images and easy-to-follow instructions. The reader should keep in mind that this is an older book, published in 2001, and many new techniques and products are now on the market. That said this book should still give some ideas for moving color, either through crayons, powder dye, and/or paint. I bought my copy used, in excellent condition, making it a very good value for the money.

Everything this woman touches is gorgeous and creative. I have seen her on Quilting Arts TV demonstrating her work as well as her daughter's. I have two of her books and love them.
