First off, I have to state that I'm a huge fan of Abandoned Pools, the brainchild of Tommy Walter. Since they have not released anything since 2005, I did the obligatory search on the Google machine and found out about this project he did with Ross Golan. I can't say I'm too familiar with Mr. Golan, but the results of this collaboration is one of my favorite music purchases of 2009. Those familiar with Abandoned Pools will notice the excellent production and arrangements of their records, but these songs have a certain quirkiness that reminds me of the spirit of XTC, albeit a bit more modern. If the tracks "Save Some" or "The Devil" don't sell you on this one, then they must not be your "cup of tea". Highly recommended for fans of Abandoned Pools.
