This movie is awful.

You like comedy that is unbelievably broad, like so broad it should have a WIDE LOAD sign on it and a pair of ace pilot cars.

The main characters in both films are, let's face it, losers.

A wonderful screwball comedy with the visual stylings of Vincent Gallo and the literary style of Philip Roth. Carlen Altman (also a co-writer) delivers an excellent performance as JR. I can't wait to see more films by actor/co-writer/director Alex Ross Perry. Please buy the film and help support one of America's best young filmmakers.

I look forward to giving this picture a full response on my end-of-year best list. THE COLOR WHEEL is occasionally smug and unnecessarily niche, but it thrives because it skirts a very brave line between "hipster calling another hipster a hipster" and sincere storytelling pleasure. It shows a fantastic joy for dramatic scenario, especially in one scene where JR confronts her professor/lover. The "unlikability" of every character allows the world to slide almost effortlessly into the surreal -- so anchored in rhetorical and situational reality, but unhinged by purposefully clichéd archetypes (i.e. the overly obnoxious Bro Extraordinaire's at the party).

THE COLOR WHEEL is a messy, unrehearsed, sloppy, road trip -- but the kind that you'll remember for a long time. Alex is destined to make another picture. I very much look forward to that.

Support young filmmakers like these. It's a vicious world for them. And this is the best four bucks you're going to spend all week. If you want me to explain the virtues of the astonishing, grainy cinematography in THE COLOR WHEEL vs. you buying a Big Mac, just ask. But it should be a no brainer.

It was great! Different from all the rest...Most current films are more about the setting and production than the actually plot. Well done!

This is an example of the possibilities of first-time filmmakers to make a good picture with limited means in an effort to launch a career.

Stick with it, hang in. Not all the scenes/jokes are 100% fresh but enough are great and it is so worth your time and on the whole totally pretty great (what does that mean?) I dig the entire package, good stuff want more.

A fantastic work, this is exactly what independent film is supposed to be and precisely what I was in the mood for. It's certainly not for everyone but but I feel if you watch the trailer you'll know very quickly which side of that line you're on. If I had to describe it in terms of other works I might say it's something like It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, but directed by Tom DeCillo. The characters are highly abrasive, but extremely vulnerable and human. If you love Kevin Smith, Aaron McGruder, David Mamit, or early Wes Anderson then I highly recommend this movie.

If this doesn't sound like something you'd like god bless and good luck finding something you do. If it even sounds like something you MIGHT like though you should definitely give it a chance. You'll be voting with your dollar to support a real, studio-free independent film, and you'll be letting Amazon know that there's a genuine interest out there for films like this.
