I've read/borrowed/owned/purchased *many* color theory books. From Itten to Sendak to Crayola. If you're serious about color theory, this is the one to get. You'll never have to get another book.

A great, in-depth look at the wide world of color. This book features exercises designed to provide the fundamentals of understanding terms such as saturation, tone, and hue. The exercises are easy to understand/execute and will have a direct impact on the way the reader views color relationships in the world around them. It is made even better and more unique in the way that it references art objects outside of Western traditional painting. I would definitely suggest this book to fellow art students and those that are interested in learning about color in their free time.

BEWARE this is not the newer version of this title. This is the first printing and the revised one (Second Edition) is available on Amazon for about the same price NEW as the USED version of this title. The confusion is that the Second Edition is entitled slightly differently "COLOR, A WORKSHOP FOR ARTISTS AND DESIGNERS" but is the exact same book with a new chapter on Color Studies on the Computer.
