I've read/borrowed/owned/purchased *many* color theory books. From Itten to Sendak to Crayola. If you're serious about color theory, this is the one to get. You'll never have to get another book.

Mastering Color,
This review is from: Color: A Workshop Approach (Paperback)
A great, in-depth look at the wide world of color. This book features exercises designed to provide the fundamentals of understanding terms such as saturation, tone, and hue. The exercises are easy to understand/execute and will have a direct impact on the way the reader views color relationships in the world around them. It is made even better and more unique in the way that it references art objects outside of Western traditional painting. I would definitely suggest this book to fellow art students and those that are interested in learning about color in their free time.
