It does come off on you bed pillows.

It goes on easy, I found the mascara type wands pulled my hair and messed it up, this applicator doesn't do that.

This is a great product and does what it's suppose to do, cover up grays!

Color Name: Dark Auburn
The color I use is Dark Auburn, which matches wonderfully with my color. I've tried a few other products over the years that were auburn, which covered my gray roots very poorly. There are many things I don't like about this product and look forward to a competitor coming up with a greatly improved product.

Cons:
The applicator needs improvement.
The applicator comes out with too much liquid on the sponge (it's saturated) and wand (I take the excess off by dabbing it around the bottle opening so I won't waste any of it). It's also messy, sometimes stray hairs (I have curly layers) gets caught on the long wand and picks up color and then it gets on my face.

If you have oily skin like me, it bleeds onto the skin (the temple area) a few hours later (very embarrassing).

If you are an active person like me who sweats while excersing, it bleeds and can drip (very embarrassing).

Don't get caught in the rain, it will drip down your face (again very embarrassing).

When applying product you need to wear a bib, or cover your top, I've noticed little spots on some of my clothes, and they do not come out in the wash.

Even with using the comb, it still sometimes gets on my scalp.

It takes skill to work with this product (which I've developed), definitely don't do this while in a rush.

The price has increased by $2 recently, which is annoying without any improvements.
**I just did some math on this, I pay $21.99 for a .15 oz bottle, which makes it almost $150 per oz.!!!

As I said the color is perfect for me and covers the gray, but I'm hoping they will improve this product, or a competitor will come up with a better product that is less expensive.

O.K. I am one of those people that has had gray hair since my mid 20's ,so when I went in for my monthly foray to BEAUTY FIRST to look for a different hair mascara I was told about "GRAY HAIR GONE INSTANTLY"! First of all the name, as I sneered riiiiiiggght! Then they offered me a tester. I conspicuously stood there bending down to look in the mirror to touch up my streak , which runs down the center of my head, dabbing at my roots , then using my own rattail comb to smooth and distribute the product through my hair. I was stunned. It was easy not sticky and after 5 minutes or so, touchable without coming off on my hands! Perhaps because my hair is dark brown almost black the color was perfect for me . It didn't find it sticky or hard to use and i will keep a constant supply at hand. Thank you very, very much for this wonderful product!

This covers my grays completely until your next shampoo. It's a great product when you can't get to your next appointment in time! My grays grow in after a week and a half and this extends my next visit to once a month...otherwise I'd be broke financially.

After reading some of the other reviews, I purchased this product. The concept is a great idea but the application process is difficult. The applicator doesn't make sense. It's like dabbing a QTip in dye and trying to place it on the area you are trying to cover. It's messy and for the price, there is very little product in the bottle. I would not purchase this product again. If you are looking for a product that WORKS, I then tried Clairol's Root Touch Up. It's easy to apply, you can buy it at your local pharmacy and it's half the price plus you don't have to pay for shipping!!!!!! Here is the link.

I really like this stuff...it really covers the gray. Just a few words of caution in using this product. I had one tube and used it over a long period of time...I don't know what happened but one day I went to use it and as I pulled the color wand out many drops of liquid dropped out and fell on my dressing table skirt and rug totally ruining both as it's dye and could not come out of the rug or fabric. It was a mess all over my hands too. It wasn't like that in the beginning and so I decided to order another one which I'm using now and all is well with no mishaps, but I do find I'm cautious when pulling out the wand. I'm hoping that was just a fluke. Also, you have to be careful when applying it so as not to stain your skin...it's hard to remove once it's there. so if you're touching up the temple area, be careful. they give you a little comb to use but it still requires some skill in applying. I have sort of auburn hair and the first time I ordered the auburn color but it was a bit too red...I now ordered the light brown and it's perfect. So I would recommend not using auburn if your hair is more brown than red...or you could possibly mix the too which I did for awhile.

I have been using this product for a year now. Great for in between colorings. Two problems though - smells a little odd and if you work out and start sweating - don't touch that area because it will bleed thru. Don't touch any towels either because it will stain.

This is the only temporary cover up that works for me, its easy to apply, dries really quickly and most importantly isn't sticky or dries into hard flakes which was the problem with the other similar products I have tried. It takes a few minutes to dry and you comb or brush through it (or not) and you cant even tell its on. With other products, my hair always got flaky and stiff where I applied it. I've had gray hair since my late teens and first I used this as a cover up for the few grays and now use it in between hair color sessions.
