Amazing Deal!,

This review is from: ColorVision ColorPlus (CD-ROM)
I am an amatuer photographer, and painter. And I have always had trouble producing consistent colors and contrast with images. I adjusted my monitor all the time, but the images would look different on other monitors. I really wanted to get the Pantone Sypder, but couldn't afford it. When I saw ColorPlus and the price I got it right away. Let me just say that after installing the software (which was easy) and hooking up the hardware (easy too) and then going through the on screen guide (which took maybe 10 minutes), I noticed a HUGE difference in my pictures. At first I really didn't notice anything, until I opened some pictures of people. You can see excellent flesh tones. Before it was like looking through a blurry glass, now pictures of people are sharp and clear. Plus my video games are much clearer as well.Bottom line: If you do lots of graphics work and are on a budget this is a must have.

Great product,

This little piece of software and hardware combination works great. I had a bad problem with colors being different in my color managed applications (adobe photoshop, rawshooter premium) and my windows using a Samsung LCD screen. Calibrating the colors using colorvision solved this - now I have consistent and precise colors throughout. It's simple to setup and run. Just remember to turn of your screensaver / powersaving mode when running this because if your screen goes off in the middle of the process you will not get a working profile.

Terrific Results on a Budget,

I have a single LCD monitor on a Windows XP system. I have had no problems with this product. I am very satisfied with it and the results I get from using it as a semi-pro photographer. Using the standard pro software to edit and set-up my images I need to soft-proof my images with a printer profile that simulates how my pics will look as printed on a particular commercial printer. Colorvision's Colorplus allows me to get reliable, pro-quality results where the images on my screen will match what I get from my commercial printer. Excellent value!!!

This review is from: ColorVision ColorPlus (CD-ROM)
I purchased this device and ended up having to return it for a refund. Only after I installed it did I discover it does not work on systems with dual monitors. That's pretty surprising given the prevalence of 2-monitor systems these days, especially among the graphics community who would be most interested in a monitor calibrator. Worse, it would not even work on the primary display of my system. The answers I got from ColorVision customer support were inaccurate, the things they suggested to try did not work, and they finally said it's not their problem ColorPlus wouldn't recognize my primary display; it's Windows' fault for not supporting dual monitors. Hmm, then how come so many vendors' products work on dual monitor Windows systems, ColorVision? Could it be that they programmed their applications to work on them and you didn't?
I would avoid ColorVision's ColorPlus, and any offerings from a company that fails to disclose such significant product limitations under System Requirements.

Did not work!,

I could not get this to work on any of my 3 computers. Would not finish the measurements and gave various error messages before shutting down. Even my computer tech could not get it to work. No answer at phone number given for manufacturer. I would not recommend this system!

Accurate color,

My husband and I attended Nikon school (a 1-day seminar on digital color photography) and during the course of the seminar this product was recommended. My husband, a semiprofessional macrophotographer, is extremely satisfied with this produce enough so to recommend it to his siblings. He uses it monthly to check the accuracy of the monitor with what is issued from the printer. He believes this is well-spent money.

Not working upon install,
This review is from: ColorVision ColorPlus (CD-ROM)
Just installed this on Windows XP today. It seemed to install & run, but when it finished going through its rather lengthy procedure (colors changing on monitor white/black/R,G,B) I received a runtime error with report to send to Microsoft. Tried restarting/ unplugging/ etc. but still doesn't work. Their web site had no real useful info on debugging or common error info. It also states they're closed until the first of the year, so we'll have to wait a week+ to see if it really works; I'll pass on giving my final rating for now.
