Firefall, famous for the 1970's hit "You Are the Woman", join the Beatles covers craze with this album. Their harmonies are amazing, and they've chosen their Beatles songs very well to suit their style. Only one Beatles rock song here (Come Together), the rest were mostly acoustic songs back in the day - "Here Comes the Sun", "Girl", "Norwegian Wood" and "No Reply".

This is sort of a LITE-FM, adult-contemporary spin on the Beatles, but that's not necessarily a bad thing. According to the liner notes, Firefall (Jock Bartley and Steven Weinmeister) were asked to perform a few Beatles songs for a radio station in Denver, CO, and their acoustic versions received a lot of positive feedback and people started asking them when they were going to do a whole CD.

Unlike some groups that try to duplicate the Beatles' sound exactly, Firefall seems more interested in working the songs out in their own fashion, and they're (mostly) successful in doing so. I'm holding one star back due to the slow-blues (with accordion!) rendition of "Come Together".
