Quick, easy reference for day hikes. I have bought this book as a gift for many people.

I've taken a number of the hikes in this book and been very pleased. Very useful for wildflower photogs or anyone who enjoys nature. Directions and descriptions are easy to follow and accurate.

Most of the hikes in this book are simple hikes as well, so it is great if you have children with you. The book also serves as a reference guide for the different flowers you will see on your hike. The book shows the best time of year to hike the particular trails in correspondence with when the flowers are in bloom. Nice book to have on hand.

My daughter gave us this book a couple years ago. Every hike we've taken from this book has been a delight. We've discovered new spots and new flowers every time. The author lists key information at the start of each description including difficulty of hike, length, elevations, peak bloom season, and directions. Wildflower alerts let you know what to be especially watching for. Maps at the front allow you to choose the location and elevation you want to explore. This little book has instigated many delightful days so far. We intend to let this gift keep on giving.

We own 3 of the books in the series and find them invaluable for our wildflower hiking & photography. Each hike is concisely and accurately described. Combine these books with those of Laurent Martres (Photographing the Southwest, Vols. 1, 2, and 3) and we have everything we need for years of exploring and photography.
