This review is from: Colorado's Greenback Cutthroat Trout: A Fisherman's Guide (Paperback)
The Colorado Greenback Cutthroat Trout is a beautiful fish that was once thought to have gone extinct but which has now made an impressive comeback and found in more than 50 streams and lakes along Colorado's Front Range country. More than just having composed a 'how to' fisherman's manual, collaborative authors Jim Rubingh and Richard Fritz have provided a wealth of introductory and background information on the history and biology of this trout species, including the work done by state and federal agencies, wildlife organizations, and ordinary citizens to ensure its survival. Beautifully and profusely illustrated throughout with color photography, "Colorado Greenback Cutthroat Trout: A Fisherman's Guide" is superbly organized into a geographical area based presentation. Of special note, especially for the novice angler, is the chapter devoted to safety issues including lightning, fires, and dehydration. Enhanced with the inclusion of an extensive appendices, references, and index, "Colorado Greenback Cutthroat Trout" is a welcome and highly recommended addition to personal, academic, and community library Wildlife Preservation supplemental reading lists and Hunting/Fishing reference collections.
