I am generally happy with this purchase. It sets off to great advantage small, clear objects such as crystal or glass sculptures or, in my case, a clear quartz crystal specimen. It doesn't have a full spectrum of color changes, as some display bases do; for example, there are no reds or greens. Instead, there are some lovely violet and blue shadings. The color changes are quicker and more abrupt than some display bases. My personal preference is for a smoother transition -- it's far more mesmerizing. On the plus side, however, it is much more attractive than the standard cheap-looking plastic bases. I would award 5 stars if the color changes were more varied and a little less bumpy.

This light base is made in China and costs about $3 outside the US. The facets are cast in and it looks cheap. The one I bought lasted about 2 minutes, then died. The seller replaced it quickly, but the second one isn't very bright and doesn't illuminate my crystal. I now use a battery operated light base that cost less than half as much and it works much better.

This is perfect to show my jelly fish paperwights I bought 3 and they are beautiful and really show the intricate designs of the jellies.

Thsi light works and looks great. A snap to use and we have a clear ball on top of ours that projects light everywhere. Very unique!

is it me or does this think work for about two weeks the the middle white bulb goes out and then the blue start flickering

what am i not supposed to leave it on or never turn it off? ive tried many diff swarovski stands and all same deal! idunno just wish they would last! aloha Lopaka
