Biography

Gustavo Adrián Cerati was born in 1959, in Buenos Aires (Argentina). He is considered one of the most prolific artists of the Argentinian musical scene, with a career beginning way back in 1983.
His early guitar lessons quickly paid off when he met his fellow band-members Zeta Bosio and Charly Alberti, to give shape to what was soon to become the main Spanish-speaking band in the Americas: Soda… Read more in Amazon's Gustavo Cerati Store

Editorial Reviews

Paper sleeve version of their 1992 collaborative album. The ex-Soda Stereo leader Gustavo Cerati is joined by Daniel Melero (Argentina's answer to Brian Eno). This edition includes the original tracklisting with two instrumentals that became unavailable once re-issued: "Madre Tierra" and "Alborada".

4.0 out of 5 stars Note on release date., November 8, 2009

This review is from: Colores Santos (MP3 Download)
Musical tastes aside, I just wanted to add that the original release date of Colores Santos is 1992, not as "June 2009" as listed on the Amazon page. Although it may be that the mp3 album was first made available on Amazon in June '09, it may mislead new fans that this is a fairly new release.

5.0 out of 5 stars Transition between Soda and Solo. Excellent!, October 11, 2005
This review is from: Colores Santos (Audio CD)

First of all Melero is where Cerati first got interested in what now is his signature electronic / rock sound. This is a great album. There are some repeats of different versions, but a must have. * Marea De Venus rattles of Argentine girls' names and what really goes on at night, ** Quatro is a "techno "if you will song. Primitive due to the time period, but you could work out to it, and *** La Cuerda Planetaria has Melero singing. A must have if you are a true Cerati / Soda fan. Great guitar work and Cerati's voice is clear & strong. Think Amor Amarillo with beats & loops. The great thing about Cerati is he can work with different artists / genres and it's always a classic. Arturo - NYC

This review is from: Colores Santos (Audio CD)
I love the music made by Gustavo Cerati, he is a genious for me, his music has acompained my life over years since soda stereo. He is always changing, looking for new sounds and merges, he's always in vogue. Also he is one of the few singers who involves himself in all the production of every disc, from the sound, tour production, style, design, team, ... till the clothes of all his crew.
Nowdays he's terribly ill ... he's been sleeping from the past 4 months and we don't know when he's going to wake up ... the only sure thing is that his legacy will be in music history forever ... this CD is one of my fav!! it worth every penny!
