5.0 out of 5 stars Colorful Puzzles for Wise Eyes, November 7, 2007
This review is from: Colorful Puzzles for Wise Eyes (Paperback)
This novel book has lots of very colorful puzzles and has kept my children entertained and amused for days. Our children have tried to mystify my husband and I with many of the "trick" questions, they laughed when we tried some of the tongue twisters. There were a number of Optical Illusions, some are obvious and others are hidden. This really is a fun book with lots of attractive art work. Lots of puzzles (answers are provided at the back of the book) It's suitable for children ages 9-12, but I am sure adults will have just as much fun as we had. This is a handy book to have if you are planning a party or quiz night.

5.0 out of 5 stars for kids too, June 17, 2011

My son LOVES this book. He has been reading and re-reading it for the past year; he just turned 7. The format is better for kids than many of the books meant for children: First, it is a thin, paperback. Second, it is all in color. Similar children's themed books that I've perused at Barnes & Noble were thick, heavy, and black and white... like a school workbook.
As to the content, it is a rare find to find a MIX of puzzles. Again, most books are one thing OR the other. That is, they are just riddles, or just visual puzzles. This book includes a wide array of types of puzzles.
Obviously, if my 7 year old can appreciate it, the difficulty level is not that high. It is a shame that these types of books don't always come with a rating for level of difficulty.

If you don't look inside, you might think these are optical illusions or puzzles for the eyes only. There are a few of these, but mostly there are wonderfully entertaining word and number puzzles. There are some classics, but many I have never seen before. The puzzles are of the type that an experienced puzzler (one who is used to thinking outside the box) will find them quite challenging, but not hard enough to give up. Sterling puzzle books are all a great buy, and this one is an exceptional buy. There are hours and hours worth of puzzles and you will enjoy sharing them with your children, friends, students, etc. even after you have solved them yourself.
