Crayons, Construction Paper & Glue, oh my!,
By Lisa B "Minister to Children and Families" (Raleigh, NC) - See all my reviews
This review is from: Coloring Creations: 52 Bible Activity Pages (Paperback)
As a rule, I do not encourage my Sunday School teachers to use coloring books. I've always viewed them as busy work that stifle creativity and basically waste valuable class time. However, I WILL encourage my teachers to use Coloring Creations:52 Bible Activity Pages because it is definitely more than a coloring book. Each individual page is a simple interactive creative activity that teachers can use to guide children in a hands on Bible experience. Simply photocopy enough pages for your class. Bring out the crayons, construction paper & glue. (Oh, my!) Follow the easy to follow instructions & watch the Bible come alive for your class.

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Coloring Creations: 52 Bible Activity Pages (Paperback)
I have purchased similar books from this company (and others). However, the quality of the artwork in this one is all over the place. Some of the pictures are good but others look like they were drawn by a third grader and I will not use them. I would estimate that at least half of them are "unusable" for my purposes. There were enough Bible stories that were not included in any of my other activity / coloring books that I kept it instead of going to the "trouble" of sending it back. If I had seen it in a bookstore, I doubt I would have purchased it. Other reviewers gave it a much higher rating, but compared to the other books I've purchased, it's probably my LEAST favorite.
Instead, I would recommend Really Big Book of Bible Story Coloring Pages with CD-ROM (Really Big Books) by Gospel Light (also available from Amazon).

Love it!,

This book is a God send. The projects are so easy and fun. All of the activities are done on the 8.5x11 sheet of paper. You just need common food/craft items and school supplies to bring your project to life. I especially love the suggested activities and what to talk about for each project. My kids love the projects that involve sweets. They still talk about the 'City of Jericho' project where they got to build the walls of Jericho with marshmallow. My kids are 2, 3, and 6 of age, and they absolutely love the projects and activities in this book.

Hands on Activity Color Sheets,
This review is from: Coloring Creations: 52 Bible Activity Pages (Paperback)
Coloring Creations is more than just a coloring book. Although the pages may be used as just a "time filler" by just using the picture, the activities associated with the picture allow the children to actually experience the lesson.

So-So,

While there is nothing wrong with the book it was disappointing for me, as the pictures were not very color friendly. They are designed for adding craft items more than for coloring. I do use the book, but after scanning in the pages and modifying them.
I am a Sunday school teacher for young children and the pages as they are, do not appeal to them. |
