My son, now 14 months, loves this book. We would read it to him when he was an infant, and now he loves to flip through it by himself and "read" it outloud. It's just the right size, and the content is simple and colorful.

The images are photos, rather than illustrations, which appeals to even the youngest infants. It doesn't seem to get moldy, as we've had it for about a year. My son still enjoys it at age 2 and a half!

ISBN 1564585352 - Printed in China. For Amazon shoppers: take a look at the reviews on this book before you assume too much. In particular, read the orange-ish line that says "This review is from:" because very few of them are for the same book. That's why I include an ISBN.
Common colors (red, yellow, pink, green, purple, orange, blue, brown, black, white, gold, silver), a couple patterns (spots and stripes), and multi-colors are featured inside this tiny book. Half of the book is taken up with colors that use two pages, the other half (starting at "black") get one page per color/pattern. Each color or pattern is shown in word and images. The photographs are, for the most part, common items in their usual colors. Some, however, are odd choices, although not bad. For gold, there is a beetle that normally I would imagine as black, for example. Still, the images are attractive and will help young children to learn colors and that, after all, is the point. The book measures just 3 1/4" x 3 1/4", making it a good book for taking along outside the house. Standard board book pages are thick and sturdy and will take some abuse, as well as being easier for small fingers to turn. - AnnaLovesBooks

Odd choices,

Pre-school color books based on stock photos shouldn't be hard to design... but it almost seems like this publisher had a series of images that they didn't know what else to do with. Why, for example, would they use a frog as an example of orange? Was this marketed for the South American Rainforest? And why red leaves? Or a black-and-white beetle?
I'm sure that the target audience isn't concerned about anything beyond the pretty pictures, even if they have an uninteresting layout and omit purple and pink, but there are over 2000 other pre-school books about color on Amazon, so you may as well choose one that had a little more effort put into its production.

I simply could NOT put this book down. After turning the last page, I was emotionally wrung out. I had laughed, cried, sat on the very edge of my seat... I can't WAIT for the sequel!!
