Wonderfully written short poems in English and Spanish. Vivid images, each poem is about a different color. Delightful illustrations.

This book features a different color on each page, with four lines of poetry describing it. The illustrations are watercolor, which together with the lyrical poetry, makes the book light and magical, inspiring a child's imagination and attention to detail. While the suggested age range is 4-8, my 2-year-old enjoyed it.

I borrowed this book from the library on a whim, and what a beautiful book! I now have my own copy. Lujan's poems about the colors are wonderful and Grobler's illustrations are lovely. My girls just love this book too. I really like that it is in both English and Spanish on every page. Simple, elegant, stunning.

This book is a wonderful little gem about colors. Not only does the book have a short poem about each color in English, there is also a Spanish version. The images are wonderful little watercolor paintings to fit each poem. Each image is whimical and fun to look at. I would add this to my library because I would use this book as apart of a lesson on watercolor painting and writing for students from kindergarten to second grade.

Children and adults alike will admire the gorgeous watercolor scenes that accompany and interpret the poems in this book.

Though the English translation appears first on each set of pages, the book was authored by a native Spanish speaker. The Spanish poems for each color are exquisite; while the translation is predominantly excellent, it falters in a few awkward spots. There's not much to disappoint here, though, and this book is one of very few exceptional bilingual books that exist, in my humble opinion.
