I am encouraged after reading this book as I am reminded that God can and does use the situations we find ourselves in to work out His plan for our lives!

This book gives a glimpse into a sweet, personal and practical relationship with God. The colors that the author describes give new meaning to the myriad of shades and hues around us. They are a delight to our eyes, but hold a much deeper connection to the beauty and very nature of God.

This is an amazing story about how the Mrs. Bard's trials brought her closer to God and she shares the lessons that she learned along the way. We have shared sections of the book with our children and even our Sunday School class. I recommend that you read this book, you will truly be blessed from the opportunity!!

What a story! The author opens her heart in a very real way through this book! Her faithfulness to the Lord in the face of tremendous heartbreak is inspirational. As I read this book I could actually visualize the author as she struggled with issues related to health, budget, and family-issues that (at some point and to some degree)we all have to overcome.I believe that everything happens for a reason-I received this book as a gift and can't help but think God had a plan for me to read this book at this particular point in my life.I am encouraged after reading this book as I am reminded that God can and does use the situations we find ourselves in to work out His plan for our lives!

More About the Author

Shirley Bard was born in 1932 to a Christian family who fostered her
acceptance of the Lord and gave her a foundation of spiritual strength. She
publicly expressed her faith and was baptized at age nine, but as childhood
illnesses led to multiple throat surgeries and the possibility that she
might never be able to speak again, Shirley struggled to understand and to
develop her relationship with God. Through some extraordinary visions and a
lifelong commitment to seeking Him, she learned to see the rainbow as the
ultimate sign of God¹s promises, and today, she invites others to explore
the variants of the rainbow colors as they reach deeper levels of trust.

Many of Shirley¹s life experiences as a teen, a teacher, a pastor¹s wife, a
mother, a grandmother and now, a widow parallel those shared by
countless other Christians of all ages and levels of spiritual maturity. Her
readers and friends not only relate to her quest for God¹s peace during
trials, but also apply her stories to the challenges of everyday life.

Now living in Charleston, South Carolina, Shirley is a freelance writer
whose inspirational stories have been published in well-known periodicals
such as ³Guideposts² and ³Home Life.²

Shirley holds a masters degree in education from the University of
Louisville. She received her undergraduate degree from Georgetown College in
Kentucky where she majored in education and minored in music. When she is
not writing, teaching Bible studies, spending time with family, or tending
to the needs of her toy fox terrier Christy, she teaches piano lessons
throughout the North Charleston area. She is an avid reader who prefers
being inspired, entertained, and challenged by Christian writings.
