Can their love give her the strength to overcome the tragedy in her past?
Colters’ Legacy, Book 2
Police officer Seth Colter is gut-shot upon seeing the delicate, shabbily dressed beauty in the soup kitchen line. More baffling is the possessive instinct telling him she belongs to him.
Lily Weston’s home is a secluded back alley nook, until Seth offers her a haven. Wary of his offer, yet reluctant to spend another night in the cold, she gives in.
Seth has a problem when his brothers lay eyes on her and claim her for themselves. Their mutual need to protect and love Lilly can’t be ignored, yet forging a future is impossible until they heal her deep wounds.
Maya Banks lives in Texas with her husband, three children and assortment of pets. When she’s not writing, she can be found hunting, fishing or playing poker. Colters' Lady is the second book in the vastly popular Colters' Legacy series, featuring Colters’ Woman and concluding with the long awaited Colters' Daughter in ebook February 2011.

Love those Colter Men,

This review is from: Colters' Lady (Colters' Legacy) (Paperback)
I had done a quick review awhile back about Colter's woman but didn't go into much detail, other then to say that I loved the book. This time around it just made me fall in love with the Colter men even more. For those who are unfamiliar with the story, it is about three men who fall in love with the same woman and decide to share her and make a family together. This book is about the son's of the Colter men in Colter's woman and a mention of how their father's followed the grandfather's before them and added the humor of the sons mentioning that they have a defective gene pool as to explain why these men fall in love...and MUST HAVE, the same woman. The sons are in denial that this will happen to them but of course we all know it does. What made this book even better then the first is that there is more family involvement showcasing the two generations. It also has the Colter baby sister in it, Callie, who is now an independent woman. She will get her own story in the next book called Colter's Daughter. What was similar to the first book was Lily asked the same question in this book that Holly asked in the first.... Can this work? Can I love three different types of men? Will they still love me when they find out about my past? The reader will find something in each man that is an admirable quality and makes the relationship balance out as we watch situations come up and how the men handle and discuss stategies to keep their woman happy. The other thing that was shared in both books is that one brother finds the woman and then knows she is the one and the reader is like...yeah right, you know this how exactly?.. but we know that is Maya Banks style of having the fireworks start even though the 4th of July isn't here yet. Of course there is always some mystery trouble from the woman's past that has to be resolved before she can move on and be happy. I actually like the way Holly was written in this book better then in the first. She was a stronger character in a mother's supporting role then when she had her own story in Colter's woman. She was great to Lily and along with Callie it was fun to watch how the women went off and had fun and the men sulked. What woman wouldn't want to be loved and spoiled by three men? This is written to a woman's hidden sexual fantasies. I saw some harsh reviews on Colter's woman that were from people in the medical field who specifically said that the woman would end up with incontinence but ...once again, this book is written for fantasy. The author never advocates acting on any of these practices and there is always a warning that the book will contain graphic sexual acts and lauguage. If this offends some then don't read this type of erotica.

Hmmm . . . Three Yummy Brothers,
This review is from: Colters' Lady (Colters' Legacy) (Paperback)
With the first book, Colters' Woman, it felt as if the sex scenes took over and left the remaining plot threads unwoven. I wanted to feel like the plot and the resulting sex actually went together, instead of the book relying on the foursome. The promise was there for the first book, and I wanted to hold onto that promise.Lily has been living on the streets in Denver for three years. She's just trying to survive and forget the sins of her past. That's when Officer Seth steps in to save Lily. Immediately he knows she's the one for him and he's taking care of her no matter what. Then Seth's other two brothers (Dillon and Michael) meet her, and none of them want to live with out her. Now, I'll be the first to admit they hook up pretty quick in this book. But things are handled much better then the first one. The three brothers never thought they would all share the same woman, and they actually have a tough time accepting it. For the page count, I think Banks did an excellent enough job. (After all there's a certain amount of un-reality you have to expect with a 4 way love story.) The crowning point for this story was that characters from the old books were involved. The Dad's (Adam, Ethan, and Ryan), Holly (leading lady from the last book), and three brothers' sister Cassie. Even other side characters had roles to play. It was completely heartwarming seeing the dynamics of the family and I appreciated developing other characters besides the 4 main ones. Namely Cassie, by the time the book was over I was beyond ready for her tale. In the end this isn't perfect, it's a short book and it's an unrealistic fantasy. Knowing all this Maya Banks pulls Colter's Lady off wonderfully. Lily falls in love with the brothers, and deals with her pasts horrors so that we can really be involved with the love story. (In fact, I cried really hard at Lily's past and her "sins.") Each brother has a unique personality and this time I could actually pick a favorite (Dillon!). The reader gets to enjoy the family dynamics of such a crazy family and get to see their favorite characters again. Sexual content: Explicit sex, multiple partners, graphic language, and foursomes!! Rating: 4/5- Great! Really enjoyed it.
