I love these Columbia shorts. Good pockets, durable fabric, not too hot. I use them for around-the-house chores on the weekend, then after a wash they are part of my wardrobe for going to University.

I would just like to say THANKYOU to Columbia for providing me with the men's ROC short that was worn, during the warm months, probably 3-5x per week for FOUR years. This is no lie. Great for hiking, fishing, casual wear, or really anything. The zip-up security pocket was discrete and useful, and the SAGE color was very stylish. They only began to look better with age and wear, and I literally wore them until the pockets gave out and the butt started to rip. Even after they began to rip, I still wore them until the seams at the bottom of the short began to rip out, and then I just looked like a bum so I had to throw them away. I was legitimately sad the day that I could not wear them anymore.These shorts are rugged and will last you years of wear! I will now order two or three pairs so I can rotate, and they will probably last me for a lifetime.

I wore these sailing in the summer and working on the boat. These are comfortable and the fabric looks and feels tough. It should put up to a good amount of wear and tear. Has many pockets I can use.

I love these shorts! I bought a pair a year ago and wear them all the time, so I decided I needed another pair just like them, but in a darker pair. They are a little on the expensive side, but honestly it is worth it because they are very high quality and will last me a long time. I wear them in all circumstances - to work, to football games, white water rafting, around the house, and they are my main travel shorts (especially when I fly). I like the 8" seam, but if you dont like shorter shorts, get the 10" seam. The zip pocket on the right side is very practical. So is the little side pocket on the back. Overall, these shorts are great!

I have these shorts in three colors. Sturdy fabric and construction, very useful pocket configuration, can wear them in almost any situation where shorts are appropriate. Also like the Columbia ROC pants, which are a good casual stand in for khakis and nicer than jeans.

This is a great pair of shorts. Especially is you are slim. Great Fit and wash like brand new. Can only find them on line now so that is a wonderful thing.

Like the other reviewer indicates in his review, I bought these shorts expecting a 10" inseam, but they arrived with an 8" inseam. The description lists these shorts as having a 10" inseam. I wish I had read his review before ordering! I called the store (1-800-569-9038) and in their system, this short DOES have an 8" inseam, so they think they sent me the appropriate item. They need to fix the info on this page! Anyway, I was determined not to have to pay return shipping for their error. I explained the situation, and they are sending me a FedEx slip with postage paid and I can return the shorts in that. So in the end, I will have to eat the costs of shipping the shorts TO me (they won't refund that) and of course, I never got the shorts I wanted. At least I don't have to pay to return them, thank goodness. Still-- it's annoying.

Although the item was listed as having a 10" inseam, it only had an 8" inseam. Had I known this, I would never have purchased the shorts. Because of the inaccurate listing, I had to pay shipping both ways - for delivery and to return the item. In sum, I would never do business with this seller again.

These shorts come with a non-standard 8" inseams that will likely not fit anyone who is ordering their waist size if they wear a 10" inseam. In fact, I have a few Columbia shorts and the standard size for the inseam is 10" on all of them (mind you these were off the rack at Columbia stores, in their standard sizes). 10" also happens to be the size that is advertized on the site, although now it says 8" and 10" inseams, without the option of choosing which one you will receive.
I have asked Amazon to replace the items since they claim that the 10" size is available and will see how it goes. However, I would recommend that you stay clear from these shorts since they will likely not fit, unless you know an 8" inseam is the correct size.
