I use these in very rough conditions. Mostly in water, from Canada wilderness to South American beach. They spend 1/4 of the time wet, and walking on rock or sand. So far they have held up well.

Purchased them for wearing in Thailand when I moved here in 2007. ONLY shoe I wear here. Currently on my second pair and still have some wear left. Fantastic comfortable shoe that I can wear anywhere even in snow when I went to China and Europe in winter. Just wear a pair of thick socks and your feet stay warm. GREAT shoes.

Certain points on the straps irritate or rub the skin. I modified certain areas and that helped some but did not completely remove the problem.

This is the second time I buy these same sandals for my husband. They not only come in a great color and look nice but they are very comfortable. The first pair lasted my husband three years and they are still in good condition. I highly recommend this sandal for man.

These are the second pair of Columbia sandals that my husband has owned. He loves them! They are very comfortable. He wears them all the time.

This is my third pair over the years. I wear them a lot, and they get rough use as I wear them to work and I'm on the go all day. They hold up very well and most of all is the great comfort as compared to my Eccos and Birkenstocks. I highly recomend Columbia's Riptide sandals; most comfortable I have ever found! The price is great also,and the only color, "Mud', goes with about anything or occasion. Thank you Columbia and Amazon.com.

I had a pair from Columbia just like these for over five years and wore them tons. Everything is the same on my old pair as these (the sole tread pattern, the position of straps, etc. I have used the new shoe for over a month this summer and have no complaints. It is a great sandle that is like a shoe. You can run and jump, hike, climb on rocks, etc. This sandle can do it all!

I have gone though 4 pairs of these sandals in the last 2 months. Used for occasional tomato picking and other field work. The straps break loose from the soles.

Nice shoes but they break easily when being used in wet or swampy areas, not ideal for extended use in the field.

First the positive: I have been wearing these daily for over a week and I am very impressed. The sandals are comfortable and light, as any good pair of sandals should be. I am also impressed with the solid feel and rugged build of these sandals as well. They have soles that resemble actual sneaker treads, which add a lot of traction. The soles are made of hard rubber that looks to me as if it will last potentially years.

And now the negative: I did experience some rubbing and blistering on the top of my feet for the first two days that I wore these. There is a spot on the shoe where the corner of the padding under the front strap rubs the top of my foot. The solution was simple -- I put a bandaid on the effected area until the sandals were broken in. I now wear them without bandaids and I am very glad I kept them. Once broken in, these sandals are fantastic.
