This is the 2nd hat I have in this style from Columbia. I thought I lost the first (but finally found it at the bottom of the closet yesterday!) so I ordered this one. Same materials composition as the old one which has turned soft and a little fuzzy from wear. I miss the tassels that the older one has. The fleece lining really keeps the wind out of your ears.

my head is large and round and this hat is a little snug but very warm

It's 20 degrees outside and the wind is blowing very hard, but I can't feel any of it on my head. This beanie does a wonderful job of blocking the wind and keeping the cold out.

The inside is velvety-smooth and quiet soft, even before you wash it.

Covers forehead, all of your ears and the back of the top of your neck.

I should have gotten three of them...

Really keeps your head warm. I was a little disappointed that the hat is not fully fleece lined, but the fleece does cover the ears and keeps them toasty warm.

My son received this for Christmas and loves it. The extra lining for the ear area truly makes the hat incredibly war in cold weather.
