We live in TX and my husband does a lot of work in and around water in the summer. (he also does a lot of playing in and around water in the summer...) I bought 2 pair for him 7 years ago in lieu of a swim suit. He loved them. He actually still has one of the original pair! He just ripped a seam in one not too long ago and asked if I would buy more. This would be my third order, and I think now he'll have enough for every day of the week. He can wear them everywhere - and he what he likes best is that he can spontaneously decide to jump into the pool at any time in the summer. Because the material is so light weight (and the sun is so hot), he dries off quickly. I'm actually kinda jealous. Mmm. I might get a pair for myself!

Love the shorts. They look good in and out of the water. They don't look like swim shorts and can be worn day to day. Plenty of pockets and the best part is they dry super fast.

Sad; I have been a purchaser of Columbia Sportswear for years now I find the new items very inferior to what I expect. For one the article is not comfortable and resized in ways that say cost cutting. I would rather pay a few dollars more and get the item the same as the item it is replacing. What their strategy has done is caused me to start to purchase from other vendors. Seems to me to be a losing strategy. If I can not order replacemetn items with confidence than I must look at alternates. Docker seems to have done the same thing with the newer styles.

My husband wore these shorts as both shorts and swim trunks on a cruise. He loved them and they looked great. We ordered them because of the zipper pocket. It securely held his ID. My only complaint is that they faded some after wear and they were worn in the ocean, not in chlorine.

Bought these for my husband. Since it is still snowing here I can't rate performance but the style is nice and he likes them. He especially likes the pockets. I gave it 4 stars based strickly on they were more than I really wanted to pay.

I thought these would be red-orange, but they are orange. No biggie. They are comfortable and as described. Nothing wonderful, not bad.

These shorts have a lot of pockets and are very comfortable to wear. Since they are nylon, they are also pretty durable so I consider them the best shorts for wearing here in Hawaii. Unfortunately, it seems that Columbia is discontinuing them soon.

A great sport shorts. Elastic waistband with belt makes fit easy and secure in high energy activities. Pockets are plentiful without adding baggage to weight or profile of shorts. Fabric is quick-drying and durable while being breathable. Overall, a great pair of shorts.

Great shorts. Exactly as advertised. My only complaint is that the belt only goes halfway around.... so when I load them down and they are wet, the slip a bit. A better belt gets these the 5th star.
