After recieving this item a day before a January duck hunt in the Chesapeake Bay, I was less than enthuastic about using something that I have not tried before. Even with temps in the low 30's, this jacket not only kept me warm, but dry as well. In the afternoon, the temps climbed into the high 50's and the jacket was as comfortable as the morning hunt. I am highly impressed by the quality of the design of this jacket. I would reccomend this jacket to anyone out there that is looking for quality without the sticker-shock that comes along with such a great product.
Product appears to be well-made and it would function well in a wet environment. However, the coat is very loud when you move, louder than I would want to take hunting in the woods. If I was duck hunting, I would certainly be comfortable with it. Also, it seems to be a little big around the chest area. Probably would be good for layers, but it only exacerbates the noisy fabric issue. If you're not a slender person like me and aren't worried about how much noise your coat makes when it rubs against itself, it's a good coat for you.
I got these jackets for my husband and son. They do lots of camping with the boy scouts and it always seems to rain. They are keeping dry and warm without sweating to death due to the breathability (is that a word?) of this great jacket. We got them for under $30 on amazon but would spend more for the same jacket.
