This is a good functional jacket. I live in Northern California where it rarely gets below freezing but frequently is around 50 degrees F. This jacket is perfect for this kind of weather without additional layers, and is the warmest jacket I have to wear on a daily basis. The arms also have some insulation, which is nice and not always the case in this class of jacket. In my opinion the fit and finish is good and also flattering. The outer material is weather resistant without being unsightly. The length is about right for me, and does not have a corded or elastic bottom edge, which i think is good for both comfort and style. I am 6'5" tall, and the XLT size fits perfectly.
In summary, I am happy with the jacket, I wear it most days in the 6 months of the year when it is colder out, and I bought a second jacket as a present for my dad.

I'm roughly 5' 11" and weigh 150 lbs. I followed Columbia's sizing guide and bought a medium which fits me fairly well. The jacket length is good and there is still enough room underneath to put on a sweater if need be. Microfleece is used to insulate the trunk of the jacket while nylon (I believe) is used in the sleeves and outer pockets. There is an inner pocket that is about 7 inches by 7 inches and is located right over your heart.
Overall, it's quiet comfortable. Not amazing mind you, but good. As another reviewer mentioned, the nylon lining in the sleeves initially chafed a bit whenever the sleeves tightened (say when you cross your arms) but I got used to it rather quickly. The tag says "Made in China" also, just fyi. I bought mine for $50 and am satisfied with the purchase.

What's to say...It's a Columbia Jacket!!
If you have never worn one on a cool rainy day than you should try it. You won't be disappointed. Also I always keep a Columbia shell jacket with a hood in my backpack for those warm rainy days.

This is a pretty good jacket. Keeps me decently warm. It's a tad longer than I like. It's well constructed and fairly water resistant.

This was a good purchase. My husband likes that it isn't bulky but gives enough warmth on a cool Autumn night.

I have had this jacket for 2 winters ( north carolina winter ) and it has done its job. It is fashionable and effective in keeping you warm when its cold. I plan on buying another one next winter.

I was in a spot. I was about to travel to a cold clime and I had left my heavy jackets elsewhere. Amazon (and Columbia) to the rescue! This is a warm jacket, not un-stylish, and comfortable. It also survives airliner overhead bins with great vigor. And it is fairly priced which really pulled me in. Need an extra jacket to hang in your closet in case of blizzard? Then consider this one. Must be worn with a sweater (underneath) and scarf in a blizzard!

I bought this jacket to replace my original Falmouth I from Columbia.
The original was a model 5020 Falmouth 1 and was a fantastic lighter weight jacket for 25 degrees and above. The exterior was a smooth polyester as well as tough. Unfortunately, Columbia phased out this jacket and I was foreced to purchase the City Trek as a replacement. It's more of a 3/4 jacket and is still a quality product, but not as stylish as the original. Still it's a nice jacket.

After wearing this jacket for a couple of months, I like it more and more. I'm 6'3" and 175 lbs. and the Large size fits well, with room to add a layer or two underneath if necessary. I like that it comes down farther than most jackets, considerably below my waist. It's light-weight, which means that a temperature in the 20's calls for a sweater underneath, but it also means it's very convenient to slip on and off, -not heavy or bulky. The side pockets are vast, which is kind of nice. I like the neutral brown color, which seems earthy and doesn't clash with anything. I would recommend this jacket to a friend.

This is a good looking - great fitting I'm 6 ft and 230 - jacket. Not too heavy - will keep you warm into the upper 20's - if it's really cold just put on a turtleneck under it - almost perfect all around jacket.
