Well I ordered these because I wanted a pair of good hiking pants to hike in the Rockies with. During the summer they will work just fine being 100 degrees in mid August, but come winter I'm afraid this pair will be packed in storage because of how light they are. Don't get me wrong, the pants are great for a good hike, fantastic actually. They are light yet tough (the first time I wore them out in the mountains I swore up and down they would rip but I was proven wrong), comfortable and they don't get in the way of you range of motion. The pockets are made of this mesh material and I will admit I'm hesitant to trust it so I haven't really tested them out. The sizes as mentioned in the other review are just a little off, I'm typically a size 32 waist 34 length and I ordered the medium 34, they fit alright but the length is a little long for me. Despite anything so far though I am pleased with the buy, but the next time I think I will try a different pant.

wore them for 7.5 miles on a sunny 75 degree day and they never got hot, never, got uncomfortable. Nice and lightweight. Worth the money. I always have a problem finding pants that fit because they are always too tight in the crotch and around the thighs. These pants had just the right amount of room for bigger thighs and crotch.

My husband and I traveled a lot this summer and one of our trips was to Israel. He almost didn't want to invest in another pair of pants but he was so glad that I didn't listen to him and ordered them anyway. He has used them so much and recommends them to everyone. They are lightweight and thin enough to wear in warm climates and also somewhat dressy. Since we went to Jerusalem and there are areas where long sleeves or pants are required he didn't have to carry any other gear. It was also great for the flight since it was cool on the plane but warm when we landed at our destinations.

The pants/shorts portion are very nice and exactly what I was looking for. However the pockets are made out of mesh, like a swimsuit liner or pocket. I wore them once and my car keys put a whole in the pocket. I would really prefer the pockets be made out of the same material as the outer material. I will see what grandma can do.

Finally a pair of convertibles for the tall guy. I have a 36" inseam and a 31" waist. These paints worked great and they are thin for summer use. The ripstop material works good. I fell on some sharp rocks in TX and skinned my leg while only causing abrasions on the leg of the pants they did not rip and are still wearable without repair.

I was looking for lightweight pants that could be converted into shorts, that i could wear over my skimpy running shorts while traveling on mass transit. These are just about as perfect as i could have hoped for. Fit well, look good, and weigh next to nothing, which is important when i strap them on to the back of my hydration pack, and set off for a couple hours of running. I can use them as pants in cooler weather, and shorts in the summer. They run long, but i have long legs, just cuffed up the bottoms. The only thing i would change is that i need to wear a belt with them- i would prefer if they had a drawstring, or built-in lightweight belt. That minor quibble aside, these are about as ideal as i could've hoped to find.

These are great pants in all areas except for a couple areas.
    Pros:
First, these are great pants if you are going overseas and have limited luggage space. They are compact, even in the XL size, and can be put in carry on or stowed with an iPad.
They are also comfortable, while in Per I wore these things about 7 straight days, and had no complaints.
Lastly they dry fast, are easy to clean, and are also easy to zip and unzip the pant legs unlike on other convertible pants i have.

    Cons:
Velcro patches are small and not sewn on very well. One of mine is just hanging on by a thread and I had to resew it on.
Fashion is not quite there for all situations, I could have used longer legs when the lower portion is unzipped, but then again one does not get something like this if they are going to spend much time in Paris.
