I'm planning to buy a few more pairs......

I normally wear 33-34 waist pants and when I got these they fit just right with thermals underneath.

Now all I need is snow in deer season or elk season out west.

First, the waist size is smaller than indicated. I normally wear a 32 and the 34 is actually a tad tight, but other reviews already indicated that, so no points deducted.

Detailed Specs
Weight 2lbs 10oz. This is a heavy wool pant.
Un-hemmed pant length 34 inches
Cargo pocket size 8" tall x 7.5" wide interior, square corners, exposed two button flap closure
Rear pocket size 6" tall x 6" wide interior, rounded bottom, exposed single button flap closure
Front pocket 9" deep interior, no closure
8"x8" double sewn knee pad, same wool as rest of pants.
Metal YYK zipper
2 button waist closure, one exposed one interior
Interior suspender buttons installed
Completely unlined
Brown camo looks good and mimics surrounding colors. Against brown background looks very brown, against green background takes on a green tone. Looks OK next to muticam

Notes:
Wool is very rough. I wear wool against my skin 99% of days, and even I feel it is a bit rough. You may want to wear something underneath or have it lined.
Is exceedingly warm. This is really for exceedingly cold weather if moving, or for very cold weather in a blind.
Knee pads provide surprisingly good cushion and insulation. Normally, I find such built in knee pads to be for wear, but these actually provide cushion and warm.

I purchased mine for $39.98 and the next day they were $99, so my review is based on the price I paid, and they were a steal at that price.

I'll update this review as I break in the pants and get some field experience with them. If anyone has a specific question on the pants, I'm more than willing to answer that.

These became my favorite hunting pants the first time I tried them on. The snow camo that I purchased is perfect for hunting season in this neck of the woods. I'm very tempted to pick up the regular camo color too since they are so warm and comfortable. The unhemmed legs are extra nice for those tall folks out there. I have the matching shirt/jacket and also the Columbia PHG Monarch Pass hooded jacket in snow camo. Everyone else in hunting camp this year was freezing as it was -10°F. They all kept telling me how warm I looked... Nuff said...

I've had a pair of the Gallatin Range wool pants for over 7 years and have been extremely happy with them. They are finally giving up the ghost after a great many wearings and machine washings. I ordered another pair of pants and the bibs as well.

These are a great deal when they go on sale. I picked up the pants for around $75 and the bibs for $80. Both the pants and the bibs come with very long inseams. I am 6' tall, but were I any shorter, the padded knees would only act as shin guards. Waistline sizes were accurate.

Don't let the dry clean label scare you away. I swear this recycled wool is self cleaning. My old pants have seen what seems like gallons of blood and fish slime from the Rocky Mountains to the lakes of Wisconsin and Minnesota. None of it can be seen or smelled after an overnight airing. When it does build up, I just throw them in the washer. Be sure to select the gentle or handwash cycle, cold wash/rinse, and line dry them.

I bought these out of season for $20 for my husband. I was surprised with how heavy they were and the knees and bum are padded slightly. They are made of very thick wool .. .definitely water repellant and warm however they do require a base layer under them because the material is coarse.

The pants are all I had hoped they would be. They will be great for cold snowey days. Plenty os pockets to put gear and added material in seat and knees. They are heavy duty. Now all I need is snow in deer season or elk season out west.

I'll start with saying that this was a great buy after returning one pair. They are really small in the waist. I would say that the waist is a little over 2 inches short. I wear 33 inch waist Levi's, ordered the wool pants in 34 inches. I put them on and there is at least a two inch gap from front tab to tab. The cut in the legs seemed to be good at this size I'd like to note.
So, I order a 36 inch waist which fits like a 34 inch on me. This worked, but in the legs and rear are cut like it was a 38 inch waist. They are baggy and give the saggy crotch. I paid less than $30 for these so I will live with the fit. They still need to get hemmed which adds to the price but still worth the money even with the down falls.

These pants great quality. The camo pattern is nice and they are warm. The knee's are double layer for added durability. It is kind of unfortunate that you have to hem the pants yourself, it does take a little while, but its not a huge deal. I bought the matching Monarch Pass wool jacket and that is great as well. The pants fit slightly snugger than a normal pair of jeans. you just can't beat wool!

These started to fall apart on their first hunting trip. They are poorly constructed. They do not keep me as warm as I thought they would. Would not buy these again.
