I needed a new pair of hiking/backpacking/geocaching pants that could trek through some brush while not getting snagged and ripped, while also being light and breezy enough to keep me cool. Needless to say, for the price, these pants are exactly what I was looking for.

Started that day out on the trail, the pants are extremely lightweight and flow very nicely for the fit. After a few breezy hours, I decided to test them out in heavy brush. The pants didn't snag on anything, or get ripped at all, even with thorns and bushwhacking involved.

I'm a very slender guy, so usually hiking pants fit very baggy on me, which I hate. These pants are the first straight-fit that actually form very nicely to my figure, I could even tolerate wearing them casually from day-to-day, they're very stylish.

I usually see Columbia as being a mid-range label for outdoor gear, but these pants are superb and deserve to be in the same category as Arc'teryx, Patagonia, and TNF.

I brought two pairs of these pants along for a two week trip across three countries in Africa near the equator. They were all I needed. I was able to wash these pants in the sink and they would be dry in less than 12 hours even in a very humid climate (my guess is about 8 to 10 hours with high humidity but only 2-4 hours in low humidity back home). The stain repelling feature is nice too. With normal pants I somehow manage to get dirt/stains on them within one day of use. These pants remained clean and looking nice. I was worried that they would look too much like track suit pants or too plastic, but to me they look very normal. They were quite comfortable too, even for the 13 hour flight back. Another nice feature is the pocket with the zipper on the front of the right leg. The pocket is sort of hidden (doesn't look like cargo pants) and I kept my passport and wallet in there and it felt very secure. I was so happy with these pants that I'm considering making them my everyday pants even when not traveling. Before this trip I spent a lot of time searching for the right clothes to bring. Some items were a failure, but I'm taking the time to write a review because these pants were a big success.

As with the other reviewers, these pants are light and true to fit. Of course the price is excellent. The kettle color is slightly lighter than pictured. The stretch, semi-loose fit, and lightness are reminiscent of yoga pants.

The are light and feel great. Ideal pants for warm climate areas like Texas. Great pants for work, they feel better then jeans.

I ordered these pants while looking for slimmer fit hiking/travel pants for backpacking in Thailand later this year. I am a 6' guy with a runners build and usually buy 32x32 pants. The pants felt like they would do great in warm weather (super light/airy) and , had a very stretchy material as well (no restriction of movement).
The issues that I ran into while trying them on was that #1 they felt like dress slacks and #2 they were looser than I would have liked.

To expound:
#1- If I am going to be hiking through brush- I want a pant that feels durable, that still looks good. These pants had a classy (dressy) look, but I would feel more comfortable wearing them to church than going hiking. I would recommend these if you are looking for a comfy pant for office work that still has some technical aspects.

#2- For anyone who is used to wearing slim fit jeans- these would not be considered in quite the same category. The lower part of the pant was very flowy and loose (like a nice dress pant would be). (As a side note- the Kettle color is a grayish tan in case you can't see in the picture)

I ended up returning them and getting the Columbia Cool Creek 2 pants after trying them on in a local store- much better for a slim fit cut and feels like a sturdier (yet still stretchy) material for the great outdoors.

These pants are a real beauty. They are super light and feel like silk. They are dressy and could almost certainly be used in a casual work setting just as easily as on the trail or for informal relaxation. They flow when you walk. They fit great. They fall really nicely over the tops of my shoes. The pockets are more than adequate. I do however feel like they might be too slim. I like a cut that is just a tad less form-fitting. I am going to buy more.

I usually wear size 31 waist but this size 30 fit just fine. They look like they run a bit larger than advertised.

I bought these pants specifically for a trip to Japan during the summer. They're extremely comfortable, even in hot and humid weather. They're also easy to hand-wash (which I did several times in my hotel room in Japan), and they dry quickly. I hung them to dry in my hotel room, and they looked great without ironing.

This is my second pair of Global Adventure pants and they are just as great as the first: incredibly comfortable and perfect for hiking and travel.

These pants are very thin material, which is good for warmer weather but I'm skeptical how comfortable they will be when the weather turns cooler. Also, the pants fit a bit tight for the size, especially across the hips. Because of the thinness of the material, be careful what you wear underneath.
