Sizes run pretty true. I ordered a large at first but the measurements seemed to be approximately 36-38 waist, 34-36 inseam. I swapped out for a medium which is about a 34-32 waist, 32 inseam. Personally I clip suspenders on them to hold them up but the velco tightening straps work plenty well enough to hold them up.
The leg gaiter is just one continuous elastic band (as in no buttons or zipper to close the circle) which means it is a bit harder to get around ski boots and such but also reduces the risk of those buttons popping open and ruining the seal. Don't expect to store much in the thigh cargo pockets because they are fairly small and tight, but I don't use them anyway.
All in all, it's exactly what I would expect from another Columbia omni-heat, and I would definitely recommend them.
Inseam length: Columbia sells three different inseam lengths; short, normal, long. Unless specified otherwise, I would assume a normal inseam length when ordering this pant. I ordered a large; the inseam length is 32 inches.
Waist size: These pants come with adjustable Velcro tabs on the hips, which allow you to change the waist size. The large can be adjusted between 35 - 38 inches. It also comes with belt loops, but the Velcro tabs work perfectly and there would be no reason to wear a belt (other than for fashion purposes).
General sizing: While the pants have a "loose fit" through the thighs, it would be very difficult to wear anything other long underwear beneath the pants. There simply is not enough room for jeans or thicker fleece pants to be worn underneath.
Insulation: This pant has no insulation. It does, however, use the Omni heat technology. Basically, your body heat reflects off the interior surface of the pants to create heat. I have worn these pants with just long underwear underneath and I stayed plenty warm in freezing temperatures.
Pockets: These pants come with several pockets, all of which have zippers. Some of the pockets have zippers and Velcro over the zipper.
Waterproof: 100% waterproof, includes elastic gaiters to keep snow from coming up inside of the pant legs.
Hopefully this review will help you make a decision regarding this pants !
Anyway, with no under layer these were okay at 35-45 degrees and a little wind. With my thermals they felt okay to around 20 degrees. Much lower than that would need thicker inner layers. And, the bottom snap doesn't close tight, and the pants are almost bell-bottomed so lots of clothes rustling noise as you walk. Get used to that. Quality seems ok and just a small snow squall test so far and were watertight.
I used to wear carharts and even though they are more durable, I went to wearing these instead because the carharts hurt my back and these are much lighter.
The only insulation these pants offer is a radiant barrier. A silver lining that reflects heat. I wore them over jeans in 0 degrees daily and it was comfortable doing normal tasks.
I'm a very thin guy so I bought a belt to use with these and the pairing has worked well.

This is a great product, nice insulation layer, waterproof, breaths well. I am 33 inch waist, 32 inch inseam, the large was too big, medium is about perfect.Published 2 days ago by Bikermaniac1

These are fantastic snow pants! They are not lined so they can be worn on warmer days or with layers under for colder days.Published 11 days ago by J H
