Tuition Needs to Grow A Little,
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Columbia River Knife and Tool's 1161 McGinnis Tuition Veff Serrated Edge Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
The materials used in the production of this knife are top notch, my problem with it is... too small. The blade thickness is too thin and the Veff serrations actually fold over after some light work. The handle is small enough to barely have any contact with my pinkey. I like the design and the materials, but it just needs to be about 25 percent larger in every aspect.

A nice knife but way too small for a grown man's hand. Looks like Mr. Mcginnis, the designer, has some pretty small hands. No biggie, just not for me. But if you have small hands it is a cool knife. Disappointed about the purchase. Really wanted to like this one. Also was a little damaged on the handle. Not cool with the quality control.

This review is from: Columbia River Knife and Tool's 1161 McGinnis Tuition Veff Serrated Edge Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
To start, I must say that I have tremendous confidence in Columbia River products. I've owned their M16-13Z, their M16-14Z, and their C/K Dragon productions. They've all served their purposes and proven handy, crucial tools for myriad tasks. The Tuition model is no exception to the standards and quality I've seen in every CRKT product. The blade polish is absolutely beautiful, along with the micarta scales and colorful inner frame. This is a very good every day carry knife - it's small, but sturdy and reliable. The blade is razor sharp, and the serrations push-cut through pretty much anything like hot butter. The handle shape is very ergonomic - although the length may be problematic for people with larger hands. The "flipper"/blade guard makes opening the knife a breeze. (and undeniably fun, too For a knife that will complete any everyday task, look and feel great, and be this affordable - the Tuition gets an A+ in my book.
