From the Manufacturer

Columbia River Knife and Tool's Gekkota is a well thought out multi tool full of little goodies. Well, it's a useful small product designed by Launce Barber and Tom Stokes. Gekkota Pocket. At first glance, this looks like a brooch with a gecko design on the green anodized 6061 aluminum face. But what's this? Push one of the little flipper tabs, and out pops a 1-3/8-Inch long spear point blade with a CRKT script laser cut in it. It is firmly held open by the frame lock cut into the Gekkota stainless steel back panel. Push the other tab, and you have a tool that is both a blade screwdriver and a bottle opener, handy when you need to open your favorite soda or microbrew. Then you look more carefully, and find the stainless steel clip on the back, which can be a pocket clip, or a money clip. And there's a folding loop that allows the Gekkota to be carried on a neck chain or by a small carabineer. Weighing only 1-4/5 ounces, this is a lightweight tool that has hundreds of daily uses. This cute little Gekkota modes makes an affordable and unusual gift or premium for men and women.

Did I mention that I LOVE THIS KNIFE!? It's the perfect size for a keychain or an everyday carry. The blade deploys easily using one hand. It's a nice size blade for such a little knife. It came super-sharp and shiny. I was carrying a Spyderco Spin, which is the coolest looking knife I've seen, until this Gekkota came along. It's so cool looking that it catches everyone's eyes when I pull it out. If you need a reference, it is similar in size, shape, and blade thickness to the Spyderco Spin. In my opinion, Columbia River Knife and Tool makes some of the sturdiest, well-made, coolest-looking knives on the market today. And I love the fact that they are made in America without being overly expensive. I've never been disappointed, by performance or beauty, with any knife made by CRKT.

i like this knife, but the only let down (in my opinion) is the money clip. it is not something that anyone really uses anymore and it makes the knife feel uncomfortable in your hand. but overall it is a nice knife and very handy and i've received compliments when i've used it.........

I had a little pocket knife that was taken at airport security ( I forgot that I had it ). I love it and was sad to see it go, but it wasn't worth missing a plain over. I got this one used because I love Columbia River and the design is just so great. Well, I love it so much , that I don't want to use it. They don't make this design anymore. It is beautiful and super useful. What more could anyone want ?

It' a cute idea but poorly executed, First off, the steel is bargain basement steel, 2Cr13. In fact both the blade and liner are made of the same steel. It's easily sharpened but even more easily dulled.

Even more annoying is the gecko. The gecko is laser cut and uncoated. This leaves the figure with sharp edges which can scratch other things in your pocket, and an unfinished back which is, in turn, easily scratched by other things in your pocket.

All in all I'd give it one star except that at the price I guess it's worth two.

BTW, If you do want one, I guess they can make decent stocking stuffers, they've been discontinued, so get them while you can and while they're still cheap.

If you're looking for a non-threatening, "EDC" as they say in the knife biz, this is a cute and handy addition to any keychain. It's good for opening packages, my primary use. It's a little unwieldy, but it's really cute. The bottle opener and screwdriver will likely also come in handy.
