From the Manufacturer

Sometimes your life depends on the tools you select tools such as your pitons, ice axe, crampons and knife. Because climbers regard reaching the summits of the 14,000 ft. North American peaks as the pinnacle of achievement, we named this popular line the 14K Summit series. Mt. Shasta is our smallest and most pocketable models with 2-3/8-Inch blades. They're ideal for everyday carry. We began with our powerful InterFrame locking liner construction in an easily cleaned open build, with nickel chrome plated zinc alloy scales featuring an aircraft-style drilled "skeleton" design. Weight is reduced without compromising the exceptional strength. The dual liners are 420J2 stainless steel. Handles are designed with an extended guard, generous size and bead-blast finish to give you extra gripping power. Friction grooves at the lock and on the blade spine improve grip in wet and icy conditions. The high-carbon, 420J2 stainless steel blades feature a rugged modified drop point shape and bead-blast finish. Blade grinds are engineered to retain maximum thickness at the tip and through the length of the spine. This blade is built for real work. Triple-Point Serrations are available on all sizes. Integrated into the design is the patented

I like this knife very much.

I always push the little lever forward to engage the added safety (I think many times it falls into place on its own after moving it around a bit after opening).

The handle of the knife is as sturdy as I expected and it's a sharp-looking product (no pun intended).

this little beauty is awesome. i carry it on me every day, and it fits nicely in regular jeans pocket. i highly recommend it, especially for ladies looking for a less bulky knife to be carried on a daily basis. no utility pocket required!

I bought this knife first in 2008 and used it extensively while rock climbing, backpacking, hiking and most any other outdoor sport I could find. Its size and weight made it a no-brainer to throw in my pack, and it even saved me a few times while rock climbing when I decided it would hurt to clip to my harness. I finally lost my first one a few months ago and having found no other suitable replacement I am back for another one.

The internal "LAWKS" system on this, and other CRKT knives is very nifty. I always push the little lever forward to engage the added safety (I think many times it falls into place on its own after moving it around a bit after opening). I'm usually not doing anything so intense that the blade might fold in on me, but I like knowing it won't (and it hasn't).

Overall I would say this is a great simple, everyday carry knife for the outdoors (or whenever). Highly recommended.

I ordered this product for my husband's birthday present. He had previously ordered a CRKT knife that got lost. At that time, he had been pleased with the quality of the CRKT blade and craftmanship. I wanted to get him another one that was a notch up. This knife did the trick. He didn't have a serrated/non-serrated preference, so I went with the serrated since he works at a high-adventure outdoor youth camp. I thought it would come in handy. The handle of the knife is as sturdy as I expected and it's a sharp-looking product (no pun intended). I actually expected the blade to be a bit longer than it is, but that was no misleading of the product description. I just didn't picture it literally. Overall, the knife is just what I wanted.

CRKT has achieved perfection in this knife design. If feels really good in your hand, run over it with a truck, skin a bear, and it still works like new. One of the nice things about this design is that you can get it in two sizes and two blade types. You can decide which fits your needs the best. Also, I have an older one that I have been carrying for ten years. They have not changed much in that time. It is my favorite knife and I imagine it will continue to be the best knife that I own.

Bought this on Woot for ~$20 when it was on the other day and received it the other day. Today I decided to throw it in my pocket for the day. It is lightweight and barely noticeable. It is a nice looking knife, seems sharp and well built. That is about all I can say on the pro as there is one big negative. The knife tends to open up in my pocket (on several occasions). It is very easy to open. What is odd is that there is a locking lever for the blade is in the open position, but there is already a locking device that you have to push to the side to close the knife. Not sure if it is meant to be a back up lock, or not. I would have liked to see the ability to use it to lock the blade closed in my pocket.
