5.0 out of 5 stars Gorgeous, perfect, dealdy
This knife is serious business, i was shocked, not disappointed mind you, with the power of the assisted opening. the blade will function as good as the best samurai sword in terms of slashing ability. a test swipe cut a foot long gash in a free hanging piece of fabric. thats deadly sharp. As far as penetration, unmatched among my countless other blades. i will keep this...

3.0 out of 5 stars Good knife for the price
My first impression on this knife was 'wow, it's heavy' and I like it.

The beautifully shaped blade is as wicked sharp and thick as other tactical knives I own. However, the blade came with a few blemishes; look like some foreign objects got on the blade while coating. I don't particularly like the tiny flipper handle on the autoLAWKS system. I would rather...

5.0 out of 5 stars A very impressive blade!!!, March 6, 2011

First off this Knife's blade is extremely sharp (it will shave the hair off your arm!) The tip will easily penetrate your skin. What I liked most about this Knife is that it can be used in either hand. The opening "Technique" takes a little getting use to, but shouldn't be a problem for most folks. The clip can be installed on either side of the handle. This is a very well made knife that fits comfortably in either hand. I would definitely recommend this Knife.

5.0 out of 5 stars I love this knife, October 31, 2010

My husband suprised me with this knife a few weeks ago and I love it. It takes some time to get used to the assisted open and double saftey lock but this knife is great and has a nice edge. It is thin enough for me to carry in my pocket or purse and fits into my small hand easy. I love it.

this knife is everything that it claims to be and more. it is not just for those who are in the military or law enforcement. this knife can be a very capable and sturdy EDC (every-day-carry). often military surplus is used by everyday citizens, for example backpacks and canteens and just because this knife was designed for specific use does not mean you can use it in ways that the makers never thought of.

Excellent knife. Seems to be pretty well-rounded and all-purposed. I have used this knife so much and I can tell it will last the beatings and lack of maintenance to come. Very high quality knife that came sharp.

I'm liking the double-lock safety feature and the black finish. The spring open is a plus too.

I ordered this knife and ended up trading it for another CRKT knife from my son.

I had trouble with opening the knife - not a design flaw but my fingers are not able to do the necessary actions to safely open and close the knife.

I would recommend this and any other CRKT product who want quality working tools without paying an arm and leg!

5.0 out of 5 stars quick release knife for self defense, December 6, 2009
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Columbia River Knife and Tool 2903 Hissatsu Folding Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
It is extremely easy to use and the design sits well in the hand to allow for a quick release of the blade. It has two locking mechanisms once opened to create a "full tang" feel and it is extremely sharp. Purchased as all around, last-resort safety measure while my significant other and I are out and about the city. Although it has never needed to be used in such a way (and I hope it doesn't) it is a very imposing blade to have and would be well suited to the role of self-defense. It has got some weight to it so even if held in the fist you could deliver a solid blow. Love it and would purchase it again.

This knife was not a let down. 5 stars for being what it claimed: seriously sharp slashing quick-opener. It is heavy and thick, but I like that, it fills my fist (I have long, thin hands). Powerful assisted open lets you know it means business, and the autolawks is nice security against that powerful opening system and didn't take long to get comfortable with. Isn't a knife I use much (or want to have to use much) but I'm confident in it. Heavy handle and small sharp blade might not be best for balance but sure make my hand feel strong, blade out or not.

5.0 out of 5 stars Hissatsu, April 4, 2011
This review is from: Columbia River Knife and Tool 2903 Hissatsu Folding Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
This is a solid knife. I know others have had troubles with the Outburst assisted opening as well as the thumb-stud but it just takes some practice (or maybe cause I have small hands it is easy for me). I was surprised with the weight when I first held it but I don't notice the weight anymore. My only beef is the belt clip. I am accustomed to the clip going with the blade and I can draw and open the blade much faster with that orientation but that's a matter of preference. If you can get this knife for a good price and you are looking for a tactical folder I definitely recommend this one.

4.0 out of 5 stars An Excellent Knife, January 19, 2011
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
This review is from: Columbia River Knife and Tool 2903 Hissatsu Folding Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
My first reaction to opening this knife was "Wow". It opens lightning fast, the blade is sharp, and the tip is deadly. My only concern is that it takes quite a bit of force to open. As one reviewer has said, you must hit the thumb stud at just the right angle with enough oomph in order to actually get it open... that is the only reason why I have docked a star. Otherwise, this is an excellent fighting knife. The balance is great, the construction is sturdy, and the blade will definitely do its job.
