4.0 out of 5 stars wicked knife
The first time I ever saw this knife I thought it looked weak and disproportional, like the handle was too fat and the blade too thin, but it is actually nothing close to that. The handle fits very nicely in your hand even though there are no grooves for you fingers or anything of the sort. The blade is actually very sturdy and I'd say nearly an 8th of an inch thick, but...

3.0 out of 5 stars Limited use, made in china
Pictures dont do this knife justice. It seems to be a heavy duty blade. Sheath is great also. The edge holds well. do to the shape and size, use is limited. Great for defense, I dont see a range for much utility. Im disapointed its a product of china.

The first time I ever saw this knife I thought it looked weak and disproportional, like the handle was too fat and the blade too thin, but it is actually nothing close to that. The handle fits very nicely in your hand even though there are no grooves for you fingers or anything of the sort. The blade is actually very sturdy and I'd say nearly an 8th of an inch thick, but I would not recommend using it for prying or any sort of daily task. Once you take it out of the package you understand that the purpose of this knife is combat or self defense. The edge of the blade itself is fairly sharp out of the box, but the tip is what I consider the most impressive and would hate to be the guy who pissed someone off that carries one. The only reason I did not give it a 5 star rating is the sheath system. The sheath itself is very sturdy despite what I've read in other reviews, but I ran into a problem with the plastic belt "strap", I'm not sure what else to call it. Any way the genius who designed it apparently thought it wasn't neccessary to make the holes in the rigging system big enough for the screws it comes with to fit through. I solved the problem by using a drill bit to bore them out a little and now it works fine, but its not something that you can use for concealed carry, not that you can easily conceal it any way but if you happen to run into the man woman or child that designed the sheath system please tell "it" that it is very very stupid. Overall the Hissatsu fixed blade is an outstanding knife built for penetration, use with caution.

This knife has but one purpose. It is an excellent fighting knife. I would have preferred a molle sheath but the kydex sheath supplied can be rigged to mount on your gear.

As always you should use your knife for what it was made for, that being said, this knife is great for its purpose.

The moment I got the box open, I fell in love with this knife. It came sharp enough to shave with and has the weight of a full tang. It feels great in the hand and is balanced well enough that it could probably be thrown with some accuracy. Over all, this is a blade made for the sheer purpose of cutting, and it's designed by James Williams of CRKT knives to do just that. Mr. Williams designs knives to be used by our military and special forces, and as a result knows how to create a knife that is light, yet exceptionally durable and practical on deployment. His own Marital arts experience and knowledge has gone into the design of the Hissatsu. Based on a Tanto design made popular by 16th century Japanese warlord Takeda Shingen, it is both a beautiful blade, and a deadly one. This is a knife well worth the money.

This knife is amazing. 100% amazing. It will cut and pierce pretty much anything with terrifying efficiency. The sheath allows it to be carried pretty much any way you can imagine and it manages to both hold the knife securely and allow it to be removed almost instantly. If you have any need for a tactical fixed blade knife, look no further. This is among the best in its class, probably the best for under $100. To make a long story short, buy it.

Quite simply, this knife cuts through flesh like butter when slashing. Good thrust too. Anyone who complains of there being no guard, has never used this knife in combat.

Quality steel. Nothing else needs to be said.
