The style of this knife is one of a kind and i had very high hopes for it. Using the clip i hung it on my belt loop and used it for several days. Then something bad happened
While sitting on a couch the knife opened on its own and the blade was sticking out at a 90 angle from the handle. Someone pointed it out, and when i reached for it it sliced open my hand. Clearly this is a design flaw and because of it i cant recommend this knife.

I owned the Van Hoy Snap Lock knife before and it was a great minimal knife with a unique opening mechanism. When it needed replacing, I saw this one and had to get it. This one is a bit larger than the Van Hoy and makes it a bit more difficult to carry since I used to clip the Van Hoy on my pocket or put it in the coin pocket of my jeans. This one won't clip or fit in such a small pocket. The nice thing is that the handle is a lot more ergonomic and doesn't feel like it'll slip out of your hand when you're using it. The locking mechanism is rock solid and gripping the handle only makes it more so. The carabiner is a nice touch and it doubles as a bottle opener, but it makes it take longer to retrieve versus using just a side clip on the knife. I'm happy I got the knife but I'd say there are better knives for daily carrying because of the size of the knife and lack of a clip. The form factor and the hole in the design is pretty slick though and is a very handsome design.

Yes as the name implies. The hole in one [5106] is a fantastic piece of form follows function. The engineering that went into the Hitchcock designed knife blows my mind. A knife that feels so natural in my hand, and to function the piece is habit forming. Sharp, sturdy, and one of the only knives that is impossible to drop when really needed.
Thanks Mr. Hitchcock and CRKT.
