i carry this knife clipped onto my pocket everywhere i go. i use it all the time, and i absolutely love it. i don't like the feel of plastic in my hand, and i guess it is a little heavier because it's all metal. but the skeleton frame helps with that. Blade length is legal for Delaware( three inches or under). the black is wearing off a tiny bit on the edges and the angles on the blade, but it doesn't bother me at all... plus it's been in my pocket everyday for three years. smooth opening, simple but effective blade locking. looks sexy, cuts well....what more could you want in an everyday carry knife? tanto point opens boxes well and half serrated section helps cut little strings or remove price tags. i also own the peck knives but they are too small to hold comfortably and aren't available in the tanto half serrated so i prefer this larger knife...
i love this knife!! everybody always wants to see it when i pull it out. also note that the blade is exposed when the knife is closed and i have not had any problems with a gap developing over time. it still closes flush so that the blade doesn't catch.

CRKT KISS in the dark Serrated

Perfect USER knife.
I carrly a leatherman PST with my own clip attachment - that's for tools.
I carry a Spyderco Military (on me off work hours, clipped to my briefcase during work hours) that is a defensiive last resort after the CCW gun....and I don't go for my neck knife...
I have a KISS Delilia PECK in the dark on the keychain and it's OK certainly...but not instalntly avail to loan out or use as my keys are in my briefcase during the wok day.

but THIS knife...is perfect for lots of general M-F 'knife use'. Packages, letters, boxes, plastic bands, etc....the serrated blade does excellent work cutting and tearing thru....and the tanto point does make it strong. The serrations are simple to sharpen with a diamond rod (the little $8 Smiths pocket sharpener is genius) and the design doesn't scare the tar out of the office ladies if you take your knife out to rip thru the bands on a case of copy paper.

I've carried non-serrated blades for a lot of my life, and they are great...but (for me) if I am going to really USE my knife I find a serrated blade works great in 'life stuff'.

Camping, survival stuff, all that is for better suited blades...this knife is light, has stayed tight for years for me (and I would use Loc-tite if CRKT told me to and I need to) and I have back-ups for it. In fact...since I wear a suit M-F...I'd say it's perfectly 'suited' for my (weekday) use, ha!

This one is a good user for me - after time it gets wear marks...just character to me...I like it.

I have had this knife a few years now (mine is one of the original silver colored ones) and have to hand it to Ed Halligan. This is definitely a clever and unique design, with some appealing features. For tough & rough work, it seems like a bigger knife than what it is. Opening boxes is a cinch, as is taking the head off of a bluegill. And I suppose that this would be a good tactical knife, as well (though I personally think of knives as tools rather than weapons).

Having said all that, though, I just can't get into making this my main EDC blade. The chisel-ground Tanto point and partially serrated edge contribute greatly to its "tough-duty - compact package" persona. But they also impair the knife's utility for FINE work.

To my way of thinking, a small pocket or key-chain knife should work just as well for opening a letter, feathering a kindling stick or whittling a snare trigger as it does for opening a tin can. I have a smooth bladed Benchmade knife with a two-inch blade that does all of that and cuts through para-cord in a single stroke - every time. But this one doesn't.

Another issue - for me - is sharpening. Any blade needs periodic resharpening and the three features of this blade's design - tanto point, chisel grind and serrations - combine to make this chore harder than should be necessary.

Even so, I'd give it a four star rating if not for a couple of safety type issues.

The blade does "seal" (fold flush) against the frame, as advertised. But I found that it opened up TOO EASILY - sometimes while tucked in a waistband or pocket and sometimes when you are getting it out. The blade tension, thankfully, is user adjustable (if you have the right tool).

I have had this knife KISS Tanto combo for several years, I use it every day for something , whether I'm opening a package, trimming a string from something, cutting picture from the newspaper, sharpening a pencil etc. Being right handed and normally wear jeans, I find this knife fits perfectly in my right side pocket. 1 thing that I did with mine is remove the thumb stud. I can slide it out, open it,, use it close it, slide it back in my pocket in the most swift and efficient manner using only ONE HAND. I have yet been able to find a suitable replacement. It is an every day pocket knife with a 2.25" blade, it is not a screwdriver, it is not a chisel, it is not a pry bar, it can be a money clip if all you clip is a few bills, not useful as a money clip with 2 credit cards, drivers license a picture or 2 and bills. It is a knife, a very sharp one (well @ least mine is VERY sharp) and I don't let everybody and anybody use it if some asks for my knife I ask them what they need it for as I know from experience others may not handle this knife with the same care as I do. that helps eliminate the "Band Aid moments" and keeps my knife in perfect working order. I have several of these waiting on the shelf to be used when my original one wears out......... like I said b4 it's been several years so far (also makes a great and unique groomsman gift)
