Haven't had the opportunity to actually use this combo tool yet but upon initial inspection it seems like a quality tool. It is built very sturdy and everything functions well. The one thing I really like on this tool vs other multitools is that the driver tips are replaceable, on others if you wear out a tip you are out of luck next time you need it, with this one you just get a new tip from your cordless drill case or pick one up for $0.69 from your local hardware store.

The blade seems to be high quality and with a little breaking in it now flicks open to the locked position easily with one finger but is not loose, so it won't just open accidentally. The pliers (which I haven't used yet) have a very minimal wobble to them, I had hoped for no wobble whatsoever but it is so little it doesn't bother me as I don't plan on cutting fine wire with them, besides if the wire were so fine as to cause the cutters to have a hard time I would have cut it with the blade to begin with.

I had read in reviews that some people thought it was bulky, to tell you the truth that is misleading, I expected it to be larger and heavier because of those reviews. This is not a simple pocket knife (if it was then yes I would call it bulky), this is a multifunction tool and it is an appropriate size for a multitool. Ultimately you don't really expect to carry any tool of that category in your pocket unless it is a mini tool or if you want large heavy objects in your pocket (that's why they come with a case).

I would recommend this product to anyone. At a price of around $30 you can't beat it, I would expect to see it retail for double that.

This thing has some weight to it. I ordered this after realizing I had order the Jr. just because I wanted to see how much bigger it was because I thought the Jr. was a perfect size. the quality of this compared to the smaller one is better just in terms of the details on the knife like the CRKT logo on it and some of the holes in the handle. its nice that you can use regular hex bits with this knife it would be good for someone in specialized work because they could use there own bit instead of the two provided. It is a bit large when sitting on your pocket but its not bad at all really.

Some may think this tool bulky, but i like it alot. The pliers are spring action which you don't always get in a multitool. The blade came razor sharp out of package. I also like to be able to switch out hex-bits, instead of a fixed driver. Some people said in their review that the bits fall out. I haven't had that problem. Another great job by the folks at CRKT!

First of all i must say that I love the Columbia River Knife and Tool company.(crkt) I have several of their products and love them all. The Zilla Tool comes in two sizes. The regular and the Jr. Both have a great build quality and functionality. The pliers are strong with a good feel on the grip. when the pliers are locked shit they are completely out of the way however quick to re-deploy if needed. The bits are easy to get to but when not in use they don't get in the way. And so far the blades edge is solid and has not needed re-sharpening. this is a five star tool that I keep in my backpack for every day use. I love it.

Yes, it's big. Yes, it's heavy. No, it doesn't have twenty tiny, mostly useless, tools.
It's perfect. At least for me.
For those of you that actually need half-inch scissors or yet another bottle opener, this multitool isn't for you. However, if you're looking for a tool with a very ample blade, a standard size bit driver, and a great pair of spring-opening pliers/wire cutters, look no further.
You can easily pay 2-5 times as much for a multitool with a million useless tools that eat up the space that would allow for the few actually useful ones to be a useable size.
Most of us don't need an awl. The files and saws on most multitools are crap. Why would you need scissors that small and difficult to use? There's always a blade, use the blade. But, I digress.
What do you actually use in your multitool? I use the pliers, I use the knife (if it's large enough to be useful), and I always need a screwdriver or hex tool. And hey, what do you know? The Zilla has those things in real life useful sizes.
In a tight spot? Need your multitool blade, but only have one free hand? No problem. You don't have to manhandle this tool open. Just flip the knife right out, exactly like a folder. Need to use the pliers? Flip the button to open them, and you're ready to go. You will need more than one hand for the bit driver, unless your holding the Zilla in your teeth. Ha.
It also has a feature that almost always seems to be missing from every multitool: a pocket clip! Imagine that. It doesn't require a pouch for easy carry, although it comes with one anyway.
I love the fact that the pliers are spring tension. Even most Leathermans don't have that.
Now, there were a few little downers.

Perfect for pulling a hot can of beans off the campsite fire with the needle nose pliers or cutting the duct tape with the knife. Rides nicely on the belt. Would be five stars, but...I haven't lost them yet, still however I worry about losing the flat head or Philips screw bits. The housing holding them is a little loose.
