I found it on a whim one day and bought it for him!!

I've never tried to lever anything with it, but that need is largely negated with the flat head screwdriver and bottle opener, which are also solid pieces of work.

This little gem fits in a pocket very easily, clips to a belt loop, and has lots of useful things attached.

As a Technical Services librarian, I'm constantly looking for a small screwdriver to open a computer case, a little wrench to loosen a laminator bolt, a knife to open a box... But I've been uncomfortable carrying a large multi-tool. I saw this on someone's list of "Tools Every Geek Should Own" and decided to try it. When I first got it, I was surprised at how small it is - but it really is useful! This little gem fits in a pocket very easily, clips to a belt loop, and has lots of useful things attached. My li'l guppy has everything I need, nothing I don't, and it makes a great keychain. Yes, it's a little heavier (like, grams heavier) than a standard keychain, but I don't even notice it. I've given away 4 so far as gifts to people who have totally geeked out on mine the moment they saw it - and that's not counting the several managers at my job who have bought them for themselves. Seriously - you can't go wrong with this tool. I can't recommend it highly enough.

I have bought many, many little tools that promised to change my life and save the world when it all depended on having a small screwdriver on hand... All those tools are in a drawer somewhere while the Li'l Guppie is on my beltloop. This tool is small enough and easy enough to carry around that you actually do. Have a bottle opener, screwdrivers, wrench, and a knife handy, not on your dresser at home where you can't reach it when you need it.

I used this tool for about a year or so as a key chain carabiner to clip to my belt loop.

It has a few flaws though...

1. The knife does not lock in place with any kind of mechanism that prevents it from closing if you apply a little force. I almost cut myself when breaking down cardboard boxes because the knife closed down towards my finger...this is when I decided to stop using this tool.

2. The bottle opener is rather hard to use. I think it had a slight design flaw where the little hook part does not extent far enough to get a good grip on the bottle cap. It can still be used, but it takes a little more effort than I would like.

3. The wrench portion of this tool is pretty much useless. I've never had a bolt that was small enough for me to use this tool. Also, it wobbles a lot and I wouldn't feel confident tightening anything if I even could in the first place.

Unless you're really dead set on getting this tool, I'd recommend against it. CRKT needs to rework this tool.

As a replacement, I purchased a Leatherman Skeletool CX. It's pretty much everything this tool should have been, but slightly bigger and heavier.

Who is this product good for? I would imagine anyone, but especially for people like me. I am one of those people who need a great number of keys on my person most of the day. This means that rather than have budging and uncomfortable (and then torn) pockets I clip them all to a carabineer and then link that to a belt loop. Because a small knife is always handy I also always clip a pocket knife to the carabineer as well. This is what is so great about this product -- it takes two steps out of the process. I clip all my keys to the Guppie and then link that onto my belt.
Irrelevant of why you are considering purchasing it here are the pros:
- the knife is sharp and solid
- the screw drivers are good
- the wrench is useful for small jobs.
-It's really sturdy.
- A la Office Space, it's got a great bottle opener
Cons:
-It is a little heavy (minor complaint)
- it can be tricky to use the Philips head screwdriver
- It doesn't have a plastic toothpick or tweezers, but I really can't remember the last time I actually used those anyway...

Overall I highly recommend it.

Compact but quite usefull. Unique design with an appropriate name given. Only one issue. WHY was this not designed sooner than now.

PS: Makes an excellent gift as well, (was suggested by quite a number of people)

The product has everything it advertises but the wrench is meant for smaller nuts and the placement of the phillips head makes it very hard to unscrew anything in a tighter space. This product is MUCH smaller then what I expected and I think the size is perfect. The knife is fantastic though, sharp and strong and I don't see it ever opening accidentally.

The quality isn't there - the flat blade screwdriver (tail) has a lip on the casting; the caribiner latch won't always close completely, the jaw of the wrench is very wobbly - both because the milled groove the jaw rides in is too wide and also because the spiral adjuster fit is sloppy. meh...

This tool is great! I will agree immediately that the wrench and the phillips head aren't that efficient, but they're meant as a last resort tool. I've found plenty of uses for every part of this tool and they have worked fine. You're not getting a craftsman toolset, but you are getting one of the best multitools for the size/money in my opinion.

I think the design is flawless and extremely durable. The knife is extremely sharp out of the box! Security typically doesn't even look at it twice when you're taking metal out of your pockets for detectors. It's a little metal fish. Not trying to wreak havoc or anything, but it's nice to keep your tools on you. Also, I've probably opened over 50 bottles with it. I see no wear whatsoever. It does take a bit of practice to get a sweet spot to remove bottle caps on the first try. I noticed some saying the bottle opener doesn't work well. I could see that being the case if you're a wimp about it.

It will really surprise you sometimes. While renovating our house I needed some wire strippers to finish installing some light fixtures. Long story short, I couldn't find it, but this tool was on my pocket. I figured what the hell. I've got time to kill. I put the wire between the blade and the groove in the base, then slid it around the wire with slight pressure downward on the blade. It made a perfect cut to strip the wire. I was excited that it worked so well. This thing has so many uses. You just have to be creative with it.

I find it easiest to use the belt/money clip to attach it to the smaller pocket within pants pockets. Put the main body on the inside of that small pocket and you'll barely notice you're wearing it. The first time you use it for something while on the go, you'll know it was worth the investment.
