This review is from: Columbia River Knife and Tool's M16-02Z Zytel Razor Edge Tanto Blade Knife (Tools & Home Improvement)
Opens fast and smooth, and while it takes a little practice on the close, once you get the hang of it, it's a no brainer. It has the feel of a precision tool and the blade was razor sharp on arrival. If I have any complaint it's that I wish it was a little smaller. But other than that I like the knife a lot.

Hard to open, harder to close,

This is my second and last CRKT knife (the other being an M4, which is a nice knife aside from the opening). Both knives were harder to open than the typical assisted opening knife and this one was even harder to close. Eventually you'll get the hang of closing it, but why bother when there are faster and easier opening knives in the same price range such as the SOG Flash II and the Kershaw Ken Onion Blur. I do like the grip on this, seems as though your hand will not slip forward. I find that the holes seem to collect pocket lint, however.

Good knife, good value,

Since I was a kid I've always carried some form of pocket knife. I can't quite understand why anyone wouldn't: the number of times I've seen people struggle with something, looking for a knife while I just reach into my pocket and grab mine--it's an indispensable tool to have.
The M16-02Z is the first one I've owned that has a remarkably smooth and simple to operate one-handed opening mechanism, something that it all too necessary when the other hand is busy holding the thing what needs the cutting. A flick of the finger and wrist and it's as solid as a fixed-blade knife. The autolawks feature is a matter of taste. Personally, I find it trivial to operate if you follow the directions: hold liner lock with thumb, pull back one lock lever with forefinger and then nudge the blade closed. It takes a minimal amount of coordination to accomplish, and one has to ask if anyone who lacks it should be trying to use a sharp pointy thing in the first place. If you're in need of a folder that performs as well as a fixed blade knife, you can't go wrong with this one.

Great Knife,

I bought this as a replacement for my Gerber that broke and I'm very satisfied. The blade is solid, not flimsy at all and the mechanism on it works quick so its easy to open fast. I don't think the double lock is really necessary, but its not difficult to use and doesn't slow you down much. They're not kidding when they say its razor sharp, you could shave with this knife. Overall great knife for the money, I've bought CRKT knives for twice as much and I can't tell the difference. I would recommend this to a friend.
