almost perfect shorts.....These shorts are comfortable, fabric is light and sturdy. Like the extra pocket for cell phone or keys. The waist fits on waist not below the waist. These Columbia shorts are great, but for my taste and activities, they are just too short with the 6 in. inseam. Wish they were at least 8 in. inseam or longer. The only reason for the 4 stars, too short.

These shorts are great for the summer. It was extremely hot in California for a few weeks and they are so light - just saved the day. Also great for occasional hikes that I take.

I've had these shorts for over a year now & just love them! They are quite thin and lightweight - very packable, and they dry quickly. Packing 3 pairs in my suitcase took up no space at all! I use mine during hot days, beach time, and over bikini bottoms when boogieboarding. I like them so much that I now have 3 pairs - 2 black and 1 mud. They are kind of roomy, like most cargo style shorts and pants. I wasn't sure what size to get, & after losing a few lbs I needed the next size down. If you are sort of "inbetween" sizes, you can probably go down in size safely.

The side pockets have been very handy for me on vacation - I put a few dollars in one small pocket, and zip my room key & drivers license into the other pocket where they are safe & sound thru big waves or rough water.

I ordered size S but it looks more like size M instead. was disappointed cause i do like the materials, so have to give away.

I have a couple of the shorts that are at least 5 years old. I wanted a new pair. I love the changes with a zipper and new belt. They still fit perfectly and look great after washing.
