I have an old pair of Columbia swim shorts that I have loved to death. They were great while they lasted so I chose to buy what I thought were the same shorts. However, these went back to the seller. My old pair has a belt (non-stretching) and a tie to keep them secure. This is key when surfing as you will find out if you forget to tie them before your first wipeout...

The new shorts have an elastic belt which fails to secure the shorts for anything close to serious swimming, plus they were too big (and I got the same size). I can see them ending up around my knees after pushing off the wall or jumping in the pool, so I sent them back. Why does every good thing have to be ruined!?!?

I am one of those guys who hates to buy swim shorts; so much so that the only reason I do is when my old ones wear out. These Columbia Snake River shorts are a replacement for a pair of Land's End shorts that were probably ten years old. I have had these new shorts for a full season now, and am well pleased with them. The fit is good, the color is holding up well in clorinated water, and the durability seems to be good. Having been somewhat familiar with the Columbia brand, it was not a difficult decision, and I have to add that Amazon has always provided speedy delivery and excellent service. Would buy these again when this pair wears out, whether it be another year, or ten years....

These are the only shorts my husband wears all weekend at the lake, so I was very pleased to find a variety of colors in his size at a good price. Shipping was satisfactory.

Purchased these recently because they looked close to some others I had. I wear them wade fishing on the Texas Gulf Coast. Very comfortable. good pockets. Dry very quickly.

I bought these shorts for my husband (from a different seller). He has a pair he bought a few years ago and wanted another. The older ones still look great. The newer ones are NOT made the same. The belt fell off after the second use and had to be repaired. He is not happy with these at all and will be looking for another brand.

Well made.
I use them for warm weather boating, they are comfortable and hold up well.
I wouldn't use them for a lot of swimming, but for getting wet occationally they are fine.

Great item for the money I paid I have another pair that is going on 6 years old and still looks great.
