This is a good winter boot, but not without faults.

I have had them a little over one year ago and used them heavily.

Sizing runs slightly large, possibly to accommodate thick winter socks.

Heavy, stiff construction that feels very sturdy. Apparently built for durability. Two weeks of hour a day walking before they felt 'broken in'. Even today I can not call them comfortable.

They are very warm, but not uncomfortably so in sub-50s weather.

Before wearing, I applied 4 coats of waterproofer. Perhaps because of this, there was no problem with dampness.

Before putting them into storage for the summer, I notice small cracks forming on the toe. There is a picture on imgur.com, rBq3i.jpg They are small cracks, but I am disappointed to see them in a $120 boot before its birthday.

If spending this much on another winter boot, I would consider other brands.

I love the style of the shoes but I have difficulity getting the correct size. I'm normally a 14W and these were too narrow. Amazon handled the return very nicely.

This is an excellent hiking and camping boot. It does require some break in time. However, I have found that the boots that are comfortable immediately don't wear very well (I am a Scout Hiking merit badge counselor). The break-in time is not bad and well worth it.

I recently tested them on a weekend campout where I did volunteer work most the day on Saturday. The day was damp, but my feet were not. The support is excellent, and while many other campers were complaining of sore feet, mine were quite comfortable. The once piece tongue design helps prevents uncomfortable spots. I found the sizing to be accurate.

I went ahead and ordered a second pair since the Amazon price was so good. Highly recommended.

Always hesitant to purchase shoes online because you never know how they will fit but these boots fit very well and are true to their size, if you wear thick or thin socks the fit will stay the same and they are also very warm and comfortable. The price is a bit cheaper than on other sites so that is a plus. Recommend it!

I bought a pair of these boots for my husband and he likes them very much. They have been very durable and comfortable. He especially likes the toecap that makes the boot more durable.
