5.0 out of 5 stars Super warm and great fit
I got a pair of these boots from a local store because I wanted to try them on prior to buying. They are wonderful. They run true to size (with maybe a little extra room for thick socks) and are pretty to boot. They are extremely warm and easy to put on and take off. No contortionists needed to get them off. They kept my feet warm in -15 degree weather and the treads kept...

1.0 out of 5 stars BUYER BEWARE, September 6, 2009
I purchased a pair of Bugaboo boots for $80.00 a few years back, and initially found them to be a satisfactory pair of boots. Then, last winter a friend's pair started to crack around the top. Unfortunately, not one month later, mine did the same. The entire rubber portion around the top cracked wide open, and the boots are now completely useless. Columbia has done nothing to restore my faith in their products, and I've since switched to more reliable brands. The boots apparently only have a 1 year warranty, which seems ridiculous, considering I paid over $80.00, and they're worn for only a portion of the year. BUY ANOTHER BRAND!

They run true to size (with maybe a little extra room for thick socks) and are pretty to boot. They are extremely warm and easy to put on and take off. No contortionists needed to get them off. They kept my feet warm in -15 degree weather and the treads kept me from skidding on the snow and ice. They are pretty lightweight and are definitely waterproof. The rise is high enough that you'd have to walk through a pretty deep drift to get snow into the boot but it isn't too high that it makes it uncomfortable to walk or move.

They look like they are going to last a long time so I won't need to buy another pair any time soon, but if I do want a second pair, I will buy this same boot again without a second thought.

1.0 out of 5 stars Rubber cracks, February 12, 2010
My boots are several years old but they've only been worn for maybe 6 days. With the small amount of snow Dallas receives I expected this purchase to last my lifetime. Today (day 7 of use) the rubber split several times on both boots. Their web site says that footwear only has a 1 year warranty. Very disappointed.

I also bought these same boots 2 years ago and were thrilled with them. Comfortable and warm. We just had 3 major snowstorms here in MD. In Dec I got out my expensive Columbia boots and bam,all cracked and totally useless. Never again. Back to LL Bean for me. They stand behind their product for life.

1.0 out of 5 stars Mens boots crack also, March 2, 2010

I have a pair of mens boots where the upper boot is cracking and completely deltaminated from the lower boot at the stitching. The boots are about 4 years old and have less than 10 uses on them because I only use them for snow trips. It's not just the womans boots that are failing. I wont buy the boots again nor anlything else from Columbia for that matter. It looks like these failures are time based and therefore a material defect. I'll choose a more reputable company next time.

1.0 out of 5 stars Too expensive to be ripping apart by itself, February 10, 2010
I've had these boots for 3-5 years, and I've noticed that they are ripping/coming apart at the seam between the rubber bottom half and the upper leather half. I've only used them lightly (~8 times) in the snow (walking around, etc.) and kept them dry in a closet when not in use. I don't know whether it's from low quality control from China where they're made from or the lack of enough glue underneath the rubber portion where they are attached to inner insulating level, but this is unacceptable for boots that retailed for over a hundred. Very disappointed. Do not buy these if you want them to last you longer than one season. They only have a one year warranty, so don't even think that Columbia'll fix them for free.

I purchased these boots last year after the snow storm we had and of course no more snow. Have been sitting in my closet. I wore them tonight for the first time. I am not happy to say the least i was only out in 32 degree weather and my feet were freezing cold! The boot is a little higher then i am use to and that i guess i would have to get use to but after reading all the reviews that is why i decided to get these boots:comfort and warmth! maybe i got a defective pair! I wish i could return them but its to late now... Guess i will try selling them so i can purchase a different pair of boots that will actually keep my feet warm this winter !!!! I can say they are a nice looking boot but not WARM at all!!!!
so disappointed

1.0 out of 5 stars My toes FREEZE, November 27, 2010
By
kitchee (Ontario, Canada) - See all my reviews
I ordered a pair of Bugaboots about 4 years ago and only wear them a few times each winter. I paid $189 for them at the time and thought I was getting a great quality boot. Mine are well made, no split seams and are waterproof up to just under the lace line. Unfortunately, no matter what kind os socks I'm wearing, my toes FREEZE in these things! The boots are lined, not too tight and I've got great socks but by the time I'm done shovelling the driveway, my toes are so cold I have to take these off. I have no idea why this is, I've never had a winter boot do this before. I would also not recommend driving with them as the heels are very stiff with no give. I've just bought a pair of Sorel "Cate The Great" and I own a pair of North Face's "Adrianne" boots. Haven't got the Cate's yet but the North Face boots are super stylish and very, very warm. My favourite boots right now.

4.0 out of 5 stars Christmas Present that keeps on giving!, January 26, 2012
Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
I bought these for my mother in law for Christmas approx. 3 years ago. She still wears them in the winter to this day. She lives in MN so the extremeness of the cold and snow can be miserable. She loves these boots because they keep her feet warm and dry, even in the most ridiculous weather. The grips on the bottoms are pretty good too, as she hasn't fallen yet on the ice (she is older, and heavier set). Anything with the name Columbia on it is the way to go.
