When I purchase gear, rain gear or otherwise, I intend to use it to its limits. As a bike commuter in the Pacific Northwest I deal with rain a LOT. This jacket fit very well, had ample pit venting, was solidly constructed and had smooth zippers. Also, the adjustability of the hood was better than most I've tried and once adjusted allowed an exceptional field of view no matter which way I moved my head, which is awesome. However, I found it to be neither waterproof nor breathable. It started wetting out on the first wet ride I took it out on, which is frustrating to say the least, and on that same ride, a ride that I deliberately went easy on as to not generate too much body heat, the amount of accumulated moisture on the inside of the jacket when I got home from the 25 minute ride was still enough to have dampened all my layers. It was frustrating and I decided to return the jacket. On the upside, if you don't plan on working out too hard or being in to heavy a downpour while wearing it it should serve you pretty well. And the colors it comes in are quite attractive.
